How do I stop sucking at dodging danmaku?

>> No.6598513

Hold shift for focused movement

>> No.6598523

Stop hugging the bottom of the screen
Stop using such large movements to dodge things
Bomb more

>> No.6598525

stop using raymoo

This is going to sound very dumb but: Try to predict where the bullets will go, and move accordingly. If you're getting swarmed, you're just gonna have to see the opening between the bullets.

What do you usually have trouble with? For me its either a) crossing bullets or b) those fucking curvy lasers.

Not OP but I have trouble moving in diagonals and controlling Marisa's movement without focusing.

>> No.6598538

Don't dodge bullets, fly through gaps.
This might probably sound like the same thing, but it's a completely other mindset.

ALL OF MY HATE

>> No.6598541

memorize bullet patterns and make as small of movements as possible when they are on the screen. Train yourself on higher difficulties.

This is actually good advice for people having problem with this, but not many understand. They rather look on x number of bullets and and won't even start "bothering" with looking at gaps.

>> No.6598550

>>6598538
This is exactly right. Don't look for bullets, look for gaps.

>> No.6598555

Don't actually look where your character is, just know where it is. You shouldn't need to see your hit box. If you are watching your character, you aren't watching the bullet patterns (which will make it a lot harder to know what you need to do). It takes some practice, but once you get good at this, it will help a lot.

Also, practice mode is your friend.

I sometimes don't look at my character (ie. when looking at UFOs or fairies so I know where I have to shoot) and sometimes it works, other times I die because I miscalculated where I actually was.

I also rage when I don't know what killed me. That bullet that spawned on top of you, or that one bullet that just stood in your path a millisecond longer than it should have just to fuck you up. So much rage.

One of the attacks I hate the most, and its not even a spellcard.

>> No.6598637

>>6598555

This is what works for me

Only on very few spellcards (China's mid boss spellcard, Sanae's third spellcard, generally slow but very dense patterns) I look at the hitbox.

It works much better to just know where your character is and get a feeling for it and look slightly above/around your character to predict the bullets

After a cascade of "part of your comment can't be posted," I'll just say that that card is very strangely difficult for no discernible reason.

Seriously, it'd be nice to see what the word filter is.
