Nekomonogatari is seriously amazing, and in terms of getting familiar with a little bit of everything Touhou jazz-related, that youtube channel is all you need.

Also, keep an eye out for http://tjm.go-th.net/ because it sounds really good. It seems like it may never find its way out to the public, though.

The album in question is As/Hi (Hi;ragi Shusetsu)'s ピアノのための東方小品集 Op.1, focusing mostly on MoF and some UFO tracks. From what I can tell, it was released at Touhou Kouroumu 6 which was last October. The Google results I've been getting leads a previous album that shares a nearly identical title to this one. If someone manages to get ahold of this album, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could share it with the rest of us.

Even though I'm not a fan of harsh, growl vocals I've grown to like this album. Their first release at C78 was a complete miss for me. This time around UNDEAD CORPORATION has a female vocalist as the main lead for their songs. Even though I haven't heard of her before, the voice seems to fit to the heavy guitar riffing, balancing everything out. Male "vocal" serves mostly as a support for her here.

I think it's a good direction they took after the release of their first album. The whole package with growl might've been unbearable, but the pleasant female vocal present here outbalances the whole thing. This album is not great by any means, but there's definitely an improvement that might gather this circle a few fans. Personally, I realized I genuinely enjoyed it after a few listens, at least two tracks that are there. Wish they'd use them in their promo video.

I started listening to it and thought "Uh oh, this sounds awfully familiar." but was pleasantly surprised by the female vocalist overshadowing the growl of the males. Like Remilia says; it's not a fantastic album but it is certainly an improvement to their last one as far as my specific tastes are concerned.

It's instrumental only as far as I remember. A collection of most, if not all, the arrangements released by this circle till Reitaisai 6 event. Genre varies from ambient, progressive trance, house, drum'n'bass, j-core... Everything here is more or less electronic related except for Disc 6, which is an orchestral album.

If you want to hear more of the recent Iemitsu I'd recommend starting from the albums that came out at C76 and work your way till the newest releases.

Can anyone recommend some good Touhou folk music albums? I just listened to one of the albums from the last thread (郷音の多い料理店by PIROPARU) and really enjoyed it. The Azure & Sands CD "Holy Night's Dong" comes to mind. It's Christmas themed Touhou arranges, but to be honest I haven't actually listened to it properly yet so idk if it's any good.

There's also a Christmas themed Touhou Drama CD from last winter comiket called 東方聖夜祭 -紅魔館のクリスマス- by バールのようなもの but to be honest I haven't listened to that one either. I really should one of these days since it's finally Christmas again.

Each disc has a different genre of music and the whole thing is mixed by him. Genres are, funky-hard techno, breaks, fidget house, uk hard house, psychedelic trance, schranz, dark step, new-style gabber and uk hardcore. He was the guy who mixed the SUBMERGE PROMO CD which was released recently and that had mainly Dubstep and stuff on it, I really like it.

The first 5 CDs have been upload to doujincore already, don't know about the last 5 (which is a shame because the genre's for the last 5 CDs looks better than the first 5).

A few of my favourite labels, nothing too obscure it's mostly entry level stuff:

Cis-Trance - Makes Makina (electronic) music. Awesome stuff but i'm not a fan of his recent vocal albums, his older non-stop makina mixes are excellent though. The 2 albums where he collaborated with ALiCE'S EMOTiON are also really good.

DDBY - Mix of Jazz and Drum & Bass on most albums, a few chiptune albums. Pretty relaxing stuff to listen to. IZMIZM has a similar sound to him.

THOUSAND LEAVES - Metal, pretty fast a brutal stuff. I don't mind the Death Metal/Black Metal vocals either. Kissing the Mirror and Magnum Opus are also good metal labels.

Shibayan Records - Remi describe them as "if Justice made touhou arrangements." Fucking excellent house music.

Alstroemeria - Vocal trance/house arrangements which are pretty good. There's a lot of albums and some tracks are not great but there's a lot of excellent stuff on the label.

Demetori - Instrumental Metal arranges. Fast and very heavy. IRON ATTACK! and CROWS'CLAW are two other instrumental metal circles that are very good.

There are several others but I can't think of them all/can't be arsed to write it all down now. You'll find a pretty much all the albums from the labels mentioned above here (http://kuukunen.net/toh/)) if you don't want to use torrents.

I haven't heard anything groundbreaking, but there are a couple of new arrangements that came out recently. I really liked the one on doornoob's album as well as the crazy mishmash of Hartmann's Youkai Girl and U.N. Owen was Her? that t+pazolite did for instance. Lumpy's albums can be quite a bizarre experience, but their Kouroumu 6 release is the only one out of three that I enjoyed in its entirety so far. There are a couple of excellent compositions there by people like oiko or ziki_7, so it's definitely worth a listen.
