Nothing can stay working forever with out people changing parts, replacing broken ones. New coats of paint never hurt anyone and this is just another page in the chapter.

That's only half of the equation, silly. The other half is everyone else that will post on said thread. The way /jp/ is now, even the most "quality" of threads might not fare too well.

I have actualy made many of the long lasting threads on /jp/ where people seem to have had good discussions or shared something on /jp/.

I have also kept old threads alive instead of letting people post duplicate threads because they don't look past the first page.

And, in my opinion, I have never been a shit poster.
I don't quite know what else lies in within my power.

No mater if we keep sure to make good threads, such a thing can't combat spam that doesn't care about quality or anything.
IF that was the case then we would have to have one new thread each minute, and fill all of them with insightful conversations all the time.
Such a thing wouldn't work, and it certainly wouldn't be /jp/ and the speed would be crazy.
