Uh... there's translation patches for every single Windows game, and SoEW to boot. I find it makes things a bit more interesting, if you're having problems by all means give them a try.

Easy modo? Eh, whatever makes you happy. I remember starting on normal and getting absolutely annihilated in UFO on the first stage because I didn't know how to focus. Then I found out how just to get destroyed on the second, but still not switching to easy because of that panel. I don't know if my pride helped or hurt me in the end.

Why does everyone seem to act like fairy wars is easy?
I've 1CC'd every other PC touhou shmup on normal (or higher) and beaten every other extra stage but I haven't 1CC'd a single route of fairy wars. I just can't get used to it.

It's not necessarily easy. It's shorter than average which means being able to 1cc it is easier despite the difficulty spikes, not to mention the fact that you can stop bullets in their tracks. I can only say that A route is easier, seeing as I cleared it with 6 lives left on Normal where I only barely 1cc'd PCB and MoF with no lives left. Star kicks my ass on the B route and I just got fairy tackled on the C route.

I graze like a motherfucker, and try to milk boss patterns for shot power etc. but I always forget that I can bomb. The freeze gimmick takes my mind away from deathbombing.
In a regular attempt I'll die more times than I bomb, completely the opposite to most touhou games. SA and MoF in particular where bombing is a temporary setback instead of a use of limited resources.

I'd say it's more of remembering where to bomb rather than just deathbombing. There are some obvious spellcards/areas I really really hate so at the first sign of trouble I bomb even I could have avoided it. It may not be the best way to actually learn but it got me the win so it works well enough for me.
