Otaku rage is common. Once they find out that a character may have canonically had a boyfriend or something else supposedly devastating, they destroy all their merchandise related to that show/game and post it on 2ch. If a show just starts to suck they'll do the same thing, there were lots of broken Haruhi figs happening during the whole Endless Eight bullshit a while ago.

I say it gets posted on 2ch, because only Japanese otaku get mad enough to do that. We take it easy.
