A Japanese type word meaning roughly "is, be, are, am". It is very common in Japanese and usually put at the end of a statement.

The proper way to pronounce it is "des." It's considered cute to add the u, to it. Although, either way you say it, it's still spelled "desu."

Anon, I need your help. I think I'm going batshit crazy. Suiseiseki is my idol. I look at her, and feel as if I can jump off the top of my house and not die. I broke up with my girlfriend because Suiseiseki is the only person that I've ever felt true romantic love towards. I can't sleep at night. I hardly eat. Everytime I see a loli wearing anything green, I think about Suiseiseki. I can't think about anything other than her when I'm alone... she is my Goddess.

Am I the only person like this? I think I need to go to some kind of Anonymous' Anonymous meeting. She's more than a meme to me... she's like God to me. She's everywhere and no where, and somehow, I feel as if she is smiling down at me.
