Is it true that disabled people in Japan are treated like shit or ignored? Are there any anime or manga that deal with shit that the Japanese people have to deal with? The only disabled character I can think of is Hayate from Nanoha A's.

>> No.6526416

Hayate had a magic book so they can't have it too rough over there.

>> No.6526420

They are always good characters on series and are always cared by other characters. So I don't know.

>> No.6526421

They kill disabled people and harvest their mucus to make natto with.

Considering her storybook ending is to regain the use of her legs, I'd imagine that being disabled is absolutely horrible in Japan.

>> No.6526435

I didn't get around to reading it yet, but go read Real, it should provide some insight on living in Japan with disabilities.

There's the herp derp girl from one of the .hack's

She was a cute character too, liked to play MMOs just so she could wander around and walk over and over.

I was riding the Yamanote one time, and a JR worker put a ramp on the platform so a person in a wheelchair could get on. That's some pretty good service.

Too bad it isn't made by Japanese people and therefore does not reflect the Japanese mindset about disabled people. Not to mention that it isn't even finished, and will never be finished.

>> No.6526727

Sometimes I hate it when the bus has to kneel down, so the ramp can come out. Shit takes forever on the older buses I ride in. Take the wheel-tran.

Yeah, OELVNs are a great source of accurate information about Japanese society.

My favorite part of KS was how they served beer at a school for disabled children.

It's odd, because of the rest of japan has such shitty access for the disabled. I don't think a single monorail station in my part of Tokyo has an elevator or wheelchair-friendly escalator.
