Guys, this is Nasu. It's more pointless than normal talking about relative power levels, because power levels can and do change to fit the plot.

But if you want to bring it down to a level of simple logic with no plot armor or hax attached:

Shiki > Shirou = if Shiki gets the drop on him.
Shiki < Shirou = all other circumstances.

Why? Because Shirou has actual combat training, and the ability to make powerful weapons. Shiki would own him if he could actually get a cut in, but then Shirou with a powerful weapon could kill anyone with one hit too. The main difference here is that Shirou is just more likely to get a hit in.

(I can't believe I used "logic" discussing a Typpe-Moon game).

>> No.651615

You know I'm gonna take this moment to say something interesting.

We don't know anything about Shirou, before he was taken in by Kiritsu... think about that.

The LAST TIME Nasu had a character with a hole in his past (Shiki) he turned out to be some kinda hax demon slaying monstrosity that could run through walls.

Then you have Shirou who can use projection at will, a level of magic close to SORCERY mind you, and who also has an unusual hair color for his country of origin...

Does anyone else but me see that something might not be completely right about Shirou other than his strange mentality?

Shiki vs. Shirou
"If powers are at max and we ignore the point of self-destruction caused from overflow then Shiki will win. No matter how much Shirou makes swords, Shiki will keep 'killing' them. It's a different story if it's possible to use a 'Mana Burst' like Excalibur."
Problem points:
1. Most probably referring to Archer-Arm Shirou but it could just as well be UBW Shirou. In either case if we ignore the fact that both of these people aren't going to have a future left after the fight, then Shiki wins. UBW Shirou is more of a gatling gun type anyway so that would be more appropriate for a killing one after the other.
2. Killing a Noble Phantasm, even a traced one, will cause problems apparently. "Self-destruction due to overflow" in the case of Shiki could either mean the amount he has to deal with or the nature of Noble Phantasms (even traced) or a combination of both.
3. Interpretation of last line by some is that Shiki can't kill Excalibur. Interpretation by others is that Shiki can't do anything about an energy blast.

basically if you ignore shiki frying his brain in the process he wins

When he was quietly waiting Saber came to see him. She just happened to walk pass the temple when she was still looking for Irisviel. She just reported that she couldn't find her yet, and Kiritsugu didn't say anything back. What she's doing was useless at this point, but that was the only thing she could do.

Meanwhile, Kirei transferred his hideout to the underground sewers where Caster used to be. He wakes up Irisviel and asks him what Kiritsugu's wish for the Holy Grail is. He was interested in what kind of wish a killer like him would have, but to his contrary, Irisviel tells him he's doing it for the sake of mankind, to make a peaceful world without war. She says a man like Kirei would never understand what he's trying to do. Kirei got annoyed talking to her, and knocks her unconscious.
When Waver woke up, it was already night time, his Holy Grail War was pretty much over in his mind. Rider called out to him saying he sensed a magical sign in the distance. It said "victory" and "accomplishment". Someone was basically taunting and luring out all the Masters and Servants for a final battle. Rider is ready for the battle, but Waver already made up his mind on quitting. He makes 3 orders to Iskandar, "Rider, you must be the one who will win this War","Rider, you must take the Holy Grail into your hands," and "Rider, you must conquer the world. Failing will not be forgiven" He looks down at his own feet and tells Rider to just go where ever he wants to. But Rider picks him up and puts him on the horse behind him. Rider's like, you said all that, so you're going to watch me till the end right? But Waver said, I'm not your master anymore! Rider tells him, But you're still my friend. Waver couldn't stop crying , they head towards the appointed spot.

In the next scene, we see Irisviel dreaming something. She sees young Ilya asking if her father is ever come back. She says he will come for us and the end is near. Basically she's already mixed in the holy grail, and the personaless contents of the tainted holy grail took on Irisviel's personality.
Rider and Waver encounters Gilgamesh at the bridge connecting the two parts of town. Rider goes to talk to Gilgamesh one last time. He said, if his army equipped themselves with all of Gilgamesh's weapons in his vault, he thinks they can conquer the world, so do you want to be friends? But gilgamesh says he doesn't need another friend. He only needs one friend and only one king is needed in the world. They go back standing at the edge and start their battle. Rider unleashes his Reality Marble and summons his army. They rush towards Gilgamesh.
Saber makes it to the Fuyuki Resident's hall on her motorcycle, and goes into the underground parking area. There he meets Berserker. This time Berserker is equipped with a pair of sub machine guns prepared by Kirei. The noble phantasm powered bullets blows up everything in its way, and the most Saber could do is to dodge it.

She jumps and follows behind it as the truck approaches Berserker. Berserker shoots the gun at the truck and its quickly loses its shape. When the truck was about 10 meters from Berserker, she kicks the truck towards him. Berserker just stood there and raised his arm to fling off the truck without dodging it. Saber found that opening and strikes her sword towards Berserker as she slices the truck apart. The strike was too shallow, but Saber continues to make a 2nd strike on the ground. She thought she made a perfect strike, but Berserker threw out his machine guns and caught Saber's sword with his bare hands, even with the invisible Wind Barrier on it. She steps back and realizes he must be a knight that knows her and her sword. She asks for his name, and instead of an answer, Berserker's black fog disappears and a beautiful black armor shows. Saber couldn't believe seeing the armor of the perfect knight that she respected tainted in black. "Sir Lancelot!"

Kiritsugu and Kirei finally meets at the center hall. They have nothing to say to each other to the enemy that they need to defeat and they ready their weapon.
Back at the bridge, Rider's army was approching Gilgamesh, but he hasn't opened his Gate of Babylon yet. Instead he takes out a single sword.
While Rider was thinking of what his attack is and how he should dodge it, Gilgamesh unleashes Enuma Elish. The blow rips apart the earth and the sky to nothingness. Rider's horse quickly jumped across the rift and was able to dodge it, but his army fell into the void. Unable to sustain the reality marble without all the heroic spirits' assistances, the desert field disappears. Waver doesn't know what to say at this loss, but Rider asks him a question, "Waver Velvet, do you want to serve me as my follower?" Waver replies, "Yes, you are my king. I will do anything for you. Please lead me and show me where to go. I want to see the same dream as you" Saying fine, he takes Waver off the horse and gives him an order, "It is the duty of the king to show the dream, but it is the duty of a follower to evaluate that dream and tell that story to the next generation" and "Live Waver, behold everything and tell the story of your king. This Iskandar's gallop." As he smiled, he turned towards his enemy and started heading towards his enemy on his horse. He knew he barely had any chance against Gilgamesh.

That's why I'm certain this place will never leave you bored" "Oh, that's... great..." and Rider disappears. Then Gilgamesh approaches Waver and asks him, "Hey kid, are you Rider's Master?" Waver scared, but looking straight into Gilgamesh's eyes replies, "No, I'm his follower" Gilgamesh, "Oh, but if you're a loyal follower. Shouldn't you be avenging your king?" Waver, "If I fight you, I'll die" Gilgamesh, "Of course" Waver, "I can't do that, I was orderd to 'live'" After a pause, Gilgamesh says, "Good work, faithful dog. Do not forget that" and leaves him. We see the past of Lancelot, the knight of the lake. His downfall began when he loved the queen. Even though the King was a woman, the king had a queen to have a stable royal family to show to the kingdom. That's the ideal goverment people were seeking. The queen was happy to throw away her own life as a woman for that ideal. However, the knight and the queen both fell in love with each other. The knight wanted to take her away, but he was a knight who serves the kingdom. One day the political enemys of the king exposed their affair and the queen was to be executed. The knight had no other choice to rebel and try to save his loved one. This choice was not only painful for the knight, it was also painful for the queen who made her loved one do something wrong, and it was painful to the king who had put his most loyal servant through this despair. How can the knight hate this holy king who never blamed anything about this on him? He wished he could be a beast that had no worries. That's why he was appointed to a Berserker class.

The battle between Kiritsugu and Kotomine has began. Kirei is using his physical hakkyokuken skills along with Black Keys while coating his clothing with mana for defense. Kiritsugu is using his gun and Innate Time Self Reality Marble control to keep a distance between them. Kirei seems to have an initial upper hand as he is quicker than Kiritsugu imagined. Kiritsugu receives a critical blow and the battle was thought to be over. However, the Avalon that he placed inside him quickly heals his body and he makes a comeback. He pushes his innate time control to the limit, but Kotomine strongly resists. He finally injures Kirei's right arm and blinds his left eye with blood. Kiritsugu tries to finish him off with his knife instead of the gun that needs reloading, but Kirei still dodges his knife even attacking from his blinded side. Kiritsugu's body is ripped apart by the overload of the time control since avalon only heals the body and not his damage and stamina. Kiritsugu pushes his time control even further to create distance again as he threw the knife into kirei's leg. Kiritsugu reloads the gun while Kirei threw 4 black keys in the air. Kiritsugu aims for Kirei, while Kirei dashes towards Kiritsugu. He realizes the 4 swords that Kirei threw was to seal Kiritsugu's escape route. As their attacks were about to cross, the black mud gushing out from the holy grail in the room above rained over them.

Shall I share with you my flawless techniques on how to win the Holy Grail War the most awesome Servant? Sure? OKAY!

Black Knight Berserker Lancelot can wield FUCKING ANYTHING as his Noble Phantasm, and this is why he is so epic. He can wield his massive cock and beat the shit out of the other Servants with it. He can wield fucking Lancer (who is invariably wielding a lance) and kick the shit out of just about everyone else with it.

First, my Anonymous Technique. We, as in most of Anonymous, collectively summon BKBL, magically equipping him Rank A Battle Continuation and have the left over members summon a “Thief” class Servant. We, using our massive numbers, pump BKBL full of Mana, allowing him to function at the highest power possible. The Thief would then be commanded to steal the Noble Phantasms of other characters, giving them to BKBL for his use. In this way, Anonymous would almost definitely win the Holy Grail War, and our wish would be to turn all of Anonymous, even the dead ones, into Gods so that we could make Earth our 4chan.

Now my “Black Hole” technique. We have BKBL simultaneously wield Avalon and Enûma Elish, and we get him to smash them together, thus forming a Black Hole due to the absolutely conflicting natures of the two Noble Phantasms. This divides by zero and forms a singularity, among other things, and forms a black hole, most likely miniature. We then have BKBL wield said Black Hole. This moment of immense badassness will allow us to automatically win the war.

This is why BKBL is the greatest, most powerful Servant in existence.

Somewhere in the hall, Kariya was still alive in pain. The only reason he can still exist is the motivation to achive the holy grail. The battle will end and he'll be able to save Sakura. But he won't be able to see Rin anymore, he doesn't know why.

But she thought that at least he would understand that she was trying to do the right thing, but is this hate his true feelings? She cried out in tears, "Please stop!!" If there was one more blow, it would have been over, but Berserker stopped in the middle. The worms inside Kariya's body had died from mana overdose and Berserker lost his supply. In that instant Saber stuck her sword through Berserker's body. As she did that, Saber said "Even then, I must achieve tha holy grail. If I don't, my friend. I can't compensate anything for you" A nostaligic voice replied, "What a troubling King. Do you still wield that sword for such reason?" Lancelot looked at his king with gentle eyes. "I wanted to be executed with you sword, my king. I wanted to compensate for my sins with your own hatred" and "Dying within my king's hand, watched over my king at death... Haha, it is as if I was a faithful knight..." "What are you sayin, you were..." you were not 'as if' but 'indeed' a faithful knight. Saber wanted to say that, but words doesn't come out. What purpose are her words if he believes his own sins?

The other characters are better than Ciel, of course, but you have to sit through hours and hours of Shirou being a gigantic tool to see those characters do anything interesting.

The best scenes in F/SN are ones where Shirou isn't fighting (or even there). The Lancer death scene in UBW, the Lancer vs Archer fight, the last scene with Archer and Rin, Gilgamesh Vs Seiba, Rider vs Seiba (before Shirou gets involved), etc.

Saber is about to get to where the Holy grail is, but Gilgamesh stood in front of him. She tells him to get out of the way. Gilgamesh ignores that and tells her to become his wife. He shoots a weapon at her until she says yes. Saber wants to use Excalibur on him, but the holy grail was in her path. Then She saw Kiritsugu appearing from the side on the upper floor. Since Gilgamesh hasn't noticed him yet, she thinks he'll see this situation and help her using the command mantra to defeat Gilgamesh. But his order was to destroy the holy grail--- The golden sword appears in contrary to her will. Not knowing why, she hold it back with all her might, but Kiritsugu further uses the third command mantra to order Saber to destroy it. The grail was destroyed, but the mud inside it spills out. It pours onto Gilgamesh who was right under it and he's melted into the mud. The mud flows out to the town and caused a dreadful fire in the surrounding houses.. Honestly? I haven't gotten around to reading A Song of Ice and Fire.

Course if you wanna berate me for my lack of knowledge in Literature I won't stop you. Just ignore you mostly.

>No. You can be better than GORY GRIM N DARK with happy themes if it's done properly sure, but since the majority of stories with ZOMG HAPPILY EVER AFTER suck so much balls, and are so overdone, you have to give credit to someone for at least TRYING to break out of that mould.

Mould? (ignoring the fact you misspelled that) Plenty of stories have had bitter or un-concluded endings. Fact so did F/SN since Saber dies in all three routes (discounting good end UBW) and Sakura gets raped by worms in the latter two.

Tsukihime's endings are also bittersweet when looked at from a positive light. Akiha true end? She truly believes she'll come back and is content to know her brother is alive somewhere (which he is if Kagetsu Tohya is cannon). Hisui true end? She leaves the house with him and they're together at least.

Kohaku? Well that definitely has the potential for BAD end from that pic I saw but from what I recall (been a while since I finished that route) things are pretty much hunky doori with her.

Ilya wakes up in her bed from a nightmare of a burning world. She became the grail in that dream. She wonders if her father is ok. She hopes that he will return one day.

Saber is sent back to her own world after the grail was destoryed. She apologizes to the world that she couldn't save.

Gilgamesh was spit out from the mud because he was such a strong existance. Not only that, but Gilgamesh received a real body. Kirei wakes up and find Gilgamesh near him. He seemed to have ressurected himself from something that flowed to his body through the master and servant pass from Gil. After looking at the burning town, Kirei laughs out in pleasure. He finally realizes what brings happiness to him in this world. Since a crazy mind like himself exists, he thinks there must be a law other than good and bad in this world, and he sets finding out what that is as his new goal in his life. Gilgamesh thinks he's an interesting guy to observe and decides to stick with him. Kirei thought he saw Kiritsugu walking in the fire, but he seemed to be out of it.

Kariya was walking back to the Matou's house like an automated machine. Zouken wasn't home and he heads for the underground chamber to take Sakura outside. "I came to save you, Sakura" saying that, he takes the little girl outside the house, and they escape the town. Aoi and Rin were waiting in the next town. At their new house, the mother and the sisters reunite. They go out and rin and sakura are playing in the flower field. The sisters make a crown out of flowers and gives it to Kariya saying it's a gift for their father...

In the cold underground chamber, Sakura was looking at the dead body besides her. What used to be Kariya died in front of her. He somehow had a satisfied face. She didn't know why this man was here, but she understood the reason he died. Because he didn't listen to her grandfather. This must be a lesson for the day. Worms swarmed above the dead body and the body became small until it was all gone.

A little boy in the fire lost his will to walk and fell down. He reached out his hand to the sky. When he was about to become unconscious, someone took his hand. The boy will never forget the expression of the man's face, who was happy to find someone alive, who was at least able to save someone. The man said thank you, like he was showing appreciation to someone.

The ground rustled as Gilgamesh moved forwards. A confident smirk marked his face, and his body was relaxed as he approached Archer.

"Tell me, Archer." He whispered as he leaned forwards. His finger traced a burning route across Archer's tan skin. "Won't you become mine?"

Archer struggled against his chains but he knew it was no use. He had lost against this man, the King of Kings. His weapons broken and his reality marble shattered. But though he was bested in battle, he was not bested in spirit. He looked up, and his storm gray eyes were defiant. His reply was to spit on the ground.

Gilgamesh' smile widened. As he expected from the man he had chosen. "Well then, Archer." His voice lowered to a deep, seductive tone. "We have all night to change your mind..."

Gilgamesh placed a cool hand on Archer's body, and the red warrior couldn't suppress a shudder of pleasure.

"That's too bad"
"Yeah, it can't be helped."
"Alright then, I'll be a hero in your place. You're an adult already, but I should be okay right?"
"Is that so? I'm glad"

Kiritsugu spent the rest of his life trying to get Ilya back knocking on the door to the Einzbern's castle in the blizzard, but Acht won't answer him. He could have killed Kiritsugu, but left him to rot and die instead, separated from his daughter. He traveled overseas several times when Shirou was young.

Interesting question and is hard to answer. I just watched the new chronicles of Narnia and there was a (sorry for spoilers but i don´t know how to use the tag in 4chan) a scene with this archer girl, she had to leave her sister go alone into the forest to save her and buy her some time fighting the soldiers that were chasing them. She was standing alone, facing the woods with her bow in hand and an arrow ready to kill it´s prey.

I tought, if she died (after being hit by some arrows but still standing) that was going to be the most epic shit i´ve ever seen in a movie like Narnia. Too bad fucking caspian came out of nowhere (hi horse has to be pretty h4x for being able to go from their "base" to where she was in half a second) and saved her when she was about to be beheaded... i facepalmed so hard then.

My point, i can´t define what´s epic for me, it has to be a certain scene that makes me feel excited and for me, there were no epic moments in Fate (neither in tsukihime)
