Easy mode doesn't even count as Touhou. Hell, it barely even on par with Raiden. Every time you play Easy mode, your power level decreases logarithmically. Start playing Normal so you can salvage what is left of your power level and worth as a human being.

I actually played Cave shooters before Touhou. The only one I could tolerate was Dangun Feveron, because it didn't have the annoying slowdown that DoDonPachi and ESP.Ra.De did. But even its disco awesomeness could not hold my attention as Perfect Cherry Blossom did. PCB is better than any of those 3 Cave games, because it is much less user hostile. It is still difficult, and I have not yet cleared Lunatic (although I did clear Phantasm), but it feels like the game wants me to succeed, and death is my own fault. Arcade shooters are just trying to take your money.

There are so many things I like better about Touhou shmups vs. Cave shmups, personally. Like holding shift for focus rather than having to rapidly tap fire for focus/alt-fire. And hitbox visibility.
