On a side note, two days ago Higurashi Minagoroshi and Matsuribayashi were scanned completely. Minagoroshi manga was glorious.

No, I never talked to them personally, but when I asked I was told by someone here that they're still working on previous episodes, and they turned out to be right after I went and checked. Considering their release frequency, by the time they get to episode 5, the tank will probably be out anyway, hence I decided not to scan the magazine in.

Though like I said, if enough people wanted me to I could, I'm not so busy I can't spare an hour or two. However, it doesn't seem like too many people are interested, and I'm not surprised since the source material is already TL'd anyway.

These are the uncompressed .bmp's of all the pages except the color ones. If you want the color page's .bmp's e-mail me, but be aware they're 600dpi and about 100 MB each. Otherwise, just use the re-sizes I touched up a bit. Also, the 2 page spreads are all mismatched even in the original pages, so if you want to line them up nicely it's gonna be a lot of redrawing.

I should just ask you guys to not upload these raws on any sites, since I've made a deal with the group that is working with us to scan episode 6, and I promised I wouldn't release these raws anywhere so there won't be another group trying to do the scanlation before us.
But since you anons were together with us waiting for the raws for so long, it wuld be unfair to not post here the link.

Nabiki here, let me explain our situation, just to clarify some points.
The year is ending, so the typesetters (me and Paula) that are still studying really didn't have time to work so much. The translators (Tara and Ace) have been working on a normal pace, but we had the raw problem s just ace keep working on episode 4 and higanbana. Tara bought episode 2 manga, but we figured out that it's really difficult to someone to scanlate the manga without destroy it (yes yes, laugh...)
The cleaners (moichispa and kati) were also busy, but moichi keep cleaning episode 4. Even so, no one has courage to touch higanbana, that has THESE FUCKLING PAGES! I SWER, RYUKISHI IS DOING IT ON PURPOSE. anyway, I tried to edit it as I was doing before, but to edit this pages take too much time, time that I don't have because of studies, so I was taking one page, editing 40% one day, then more 40% next day, and etc.
Because of it, I got tired of working on the same chapter for more than one month, and it also was bad because, since it was making me get tired, I didn't even touch episode 4.
The Michelle appeared. Michelle is taking care of episode 4 s I can relax and just take care of higanbana.But higanbana was still boring, so two more person appeared to help, nd both are editing higanbana. That makes me free to work on episode 5. Paula is taking care of episode 2 typesetting while Tara translates it and the other group's typesetter and translator is taking care of episode 6. Still, we have anon ( I still don't know how to call you, sweet...) that is translating just episode 5, so he can do it quickly.
Yeah yeah, /jp/ is not my blog and all, I already know that, i'm just assuring you that, for now on, i guess everything will be ok~~~~~

It's pretty unrelated, but can I ask you something since you sound like you know your stuff? Is there any way of making the text inserting into bubbles process faster? Usually I just spacebar the lines until they fit, is there any easier/quicker way?
Also, what do you do when the text is outside a bubble, straight over the background?
Do you just use those fonts who have a white background under the letters, and hope it covers everything?

Usually using text boxes is faster than using text lines. To add a text box, just draw a box instead of clicking on the image. With text boxes, you'll need to add less spaces.
Use outlining (right click on the text layer -> some properties, the last effect in the list). I usually don't make it more than 3 pixels though, so the textures should be restored more or less. You can make it around 10 pixels, then the text will basically be on a white background.

EP3>EP6>EP1>EP4>EP5>EP2

Yeah I know EP1 and 3 are done by the same mangaka but her artwork for EP3 has vastly improved. EP2 mangaka will forever remain as the shitiest one in terms of art unless (godforbid) EP7 or 8 proves otherwise

Not the anon that dislikes EP6's style, but I do acknowledge there's a lot of perspective errors

In that panel, the direction that the finger is pointing + how the palm of the hand appears are wrong - that hand should either be moved to be nearer to Erika or to be pointed further to the left (our left)

More errors in perspective will also appear in the wedding panels if you squint

I personally really like the style so I dismiss these mistakes - perspective is really hard to do well after all.

EP5's art on the other hand is just too hard-edged, there are anatomy & perspective errors in there too, in argument for EP6 art.
