The new episode was shit, anything involved in that show is shit, gainax is making something so terribly shit they could very well make the name gainax into 'shit' if they pull some shit like this shit again.

Gainax is bathing in the monies from their actual good series that they milk into being shit, such as Evangelion. They don't really need anything else these days to be 'bathing in the moniez' as eva STILL provides them with a constant flow of cash.

I'm against the garbage they are putting out lately, not just panty and stocking...but mainly it. Panty and stocking isn't qualified to count as any form of entertainment because it's the antithesis of entertainment - it's just pure shit and not entertaining at all unless you're a fucking 10 year old with the cliche excuse of ITS SO BAD ITS GREAT LOOOOOLLL, anyone who isn't stuck in the mindset of a fucking child wouldn't be able to stand it. Basically what i have against gainax is that they are pulling a kyo-ani

Going from really high quality titles to complete shit.

They spend a shit ton on their good stuff - such as KyoAni did, but then they make one or two really shitty shows that are clearly low-budget no matter how much you want to claim its "just a different style". Once they see "oh we can make this shitty extreme low budget show and it sells great anyway - they continue making those types of things.

Gainax has recently been doing this, following KyoAni's plummet that started during Haruhi, and they will probably end up the same way.

Sorry but claiming the cheapness and the extremely undetailed easy-for-chinese-and-koreans-to-do-for-10-cents-an-episode art is NOT something you can blow off with "THATS JUST THE STYLE!" along with the amazingly piss poor writing - which sorry but is NOT witty in any way including in the "so bad its great!' way, is NOT something I'll accept bullshit excuses over.

It's pure and utter shit and it's another contribution to the ruining of anime, and in this case, somehow even a step lower than those softcore hentai series they claim aren't hentai so that they can get more sales and ratings for.

You can't even call Panty and Stocking "mindless fun". Mindless fun is Gintama. Mindless fun is Cromartie. Mindless fun is FUMOFFU. Mindless fun is every shitty and good slice of life series.

Mindless fun is not this. This is just shit, theres no other words to describe it because any you say will be inaccurate. Only the word "shit" portrays it properly.

P&S is a series which has a clear premise and it accomplishes it fairly well. "Shit" is a pretty subjective term after all. "The writing is bad"? Questionable. It doesn't intend to be complex, so where's the point in complaining? "The animation is cheap"? It works, at least. And then again, the very animation of the series is a parody of the silly standard American animation series have lately.

Then again, I wasn't taking the two posts above very seriously, mainly because of the "it's shit and don't say otherwise" mood of it, naming shit like K-ON or such. P&S at least is watchable. While I do agree that there's a tendency lately to release stupid softcore porn, I sure as hell don't think of P&S as an example to this kind of crap.

K-ON has no pretensions, it's a show about little girls being cute and it does that well.

P&S is a "parody"? It parodies fuck all, it's just a comedy with really, really bad jokes. I watched until ep 6 because a friend was forcing me and I just can't do it anymore. Literally every half episode is either joking about poop or sex. Only two exceptions, that one episode about boogers and that other one where they adopted that other art style and it was about the salaryman or whatever.

We can apply that "no pretensions" thing to anime like Hidamari Sketch, of similar nature but without a pretty different approach in regards of the profit it can make. Not like it's not made to make money, every anime is created with that objective. But K-ON!'s case is blatantly obvious.
