I hate how the term "audiophile" has become more associated with waving your dick around over how much money you spent than actually appreciating sound quality.

Personally I'm all for sweet sound systems, but spending money past where you can honestly tell the difference is fucking stupid. I went to a high-end enthusiast-type audio/home theater store, and sat down, and listened to progressively higher priced speakers. At about 3,000 to 5,000 USD, it seemed to peak- above that, I couldn't really tell very much about how much "better" the speakers sounded, and trust me, I went up to systems that cost like 80K USD.
