All the metrics for the fourth letter are calibrated for E types. In nutshells, it's whichever brain function you show the world, for E types, the dominant function and the extroverted function are the same. But I types will read the questions, and not know whether to answer on behalf of their inner selves or outer selves, and so the score will be ambiguous, and often totally wrong.

Had a phase when I really geeked out about this stuff. Still like it, it's handy for character design, but don't take it too seriously.

HELLO EVERYONE.
I don't really post around here, but I came to make a thread about something and I noticed you discussing something I know quite a lot about.
> hurr durr made by a daughter/mother duo without degree in psychology, can't possibly work
First of all Freud didn't have a degree in psychology either; neither did Jung who learned his stuff from Freud, and who's ideas MBTI is based on. Finally MBTI as we know it today is not the same thing this daughter/mother trio made a hundred years ago. It had been modified and expanded by like three generations of psychologists since the fucking early 20th century.

> pseudopsychology hurr durr

Nearly all psychology is built on conjectures based on circumstancial evidence. If you completely condemn MBTI you have to condemn the psychoanalytical approach, the existentialist, the humanistic etc. leaving you only with the neurological approaches; and good luck applying your goddamn numbers and brain liquids to people in everyday life.

> the big five is so much better!

But for what? It doesn't put you in a box and give you exiting descriptions to read that have been based on people that fit into the same box as you. It gives you fucking numbers, which on other words means no fun; it's just helpful for therapists and the sort dealing with their patients.

Bottom line is that MBTI isn't perfect. But it isn't useless either. It's fun. And certainly better than horoscopes.
