Hey /jp/.
Your average local anon here. I got inspired by ZUN and his music a while ago, and now I've finally bought myself a keyboard to play his music. It's rather trippy and takes alot of practice, but once you get the hang of it you start learning REALLY fast. I got the keyboard a week ago and (spending all of my time all day on it) already I can play him music semi-fluently. It's really fun, and using that same "flow/charisma/consistency" he uses, I've managed to make my own melody. I can see why he says making music comes so naturally to him. It literally just comes as he plays, and the same goes with me.
You should give this a try, /jp/. It's really fun!

It is a copypasta.

I remember when it was first posted. It was pretty awful.

That or it's just OP writing the same post of that time.

I'm still a beginner, I've only being producing for a few months. And only started making hardstyle since not too long ago...

But here's a small part of what I'm currently working on : http://www.mediafire.com/?xcmpvre8xalbj6o

I find it rubbish though, and I'm ready to remake it at any moment.

Holy shit. That was actually pretty good.
I myself don't really like hardstyle, but this was suprisingly good, the song started prety nicely. I make more...how should I say it. Insane songs I guess so Im not an expert on that stuff.

Well thank you, but that was the "break" and "climax' the intro is still pretty rubbish.

The only thing I'm happy with is the melody, I'm still not satisfied with the volumes and such.

Oh snap! Well Im sure that song will be great once it's done. The melody really is top of the class. Making good melodies is really hard. All the good luck with that song, do not modify it too much.

nice stuff, is that all self-taught? Any tutorials/resources you can share to an absolute beginner?

I'm thinking of doing that this once the track is done, I might dubbed it "Accelerator" since it has some of his voice in it.

>>6377153
But be aware that that was a part from half of the song, Hardstyle always has a intro consisting out sometimes voice samples, a hard lead playing most a repeated melody with one or three changes in the melody.

>>6377179
Yeah it's all self-taught, I've only looked up some stuff on youtube for the kick and bass. Though I ended up doing it my own way in th end.

As for resources, try to start out simple. Get to learn some musical theory first, get a midi keyboard, get some synths, and effect plugins, look at tutorials on youtube(Not that much of them are any good). and practice, alot.

hey I have keyboard in my house, but I never used it so I dont know anything about playing it or even music, but playing Touhou music sounds fun. But Im afraid to leave my room / house. Is it possible to learn it without going on courses?

It is possible, but expect it is going to take a long time before you can learn songs quickly and can play with both hands.
