/jp/, have you ever encountered a woman your age who seemed more intelligent than you?

I can accept the concept of intelligent women as long as they are distant to me, or older than me.

However, recently, I've encountered one. Actually, she's not even a woman. She's just a girl. She's four years younger than me - 17, female, and yet she seems more intelligent. I try to convince myself that she actually isn't, scrutinizing small details of what she says in my mind that might possibly point to ignorance.

How would you deal with a situation like this?

Why would I ask /adv/? That's just a board full of normals from /r9k/. I want /jp/'s opinion on the matter.

Get more intelligent than her. Problem solved.

>> No.6361424

Just go along with it until you find fallacies in her words, then chew her out on it.

But if she truly proves to be intelligent, she may be worth hanging around, may be far better company than most people these days.

It's not like I want to interact with her. I don't. I know her, I don't interact with her.

People don't really grow in intelligence so much, just knowledge.

If you didn't want to interact with her, you wouldn't care.

So, what's the problem? You think you are some hot shit unique godling or something?
Of course there are tons of people who are better than you.

Interacting and being around are different things. I have to be around her, and put up with her speaking and seeming intelligent, I don't actually talk to her or interact with her in any way.

>>6361448
She's a girl. Like all women, she is no doubt a worthless slut who is not worth anything. At least, that's what I like to think. This only applies to women, not to men.

I was going to write one, then changed my mind and wrote the other mid-sentence, so ended up saying both.

I have a low self-esteem, so everyone seems smarter than me, even people who are objectively stupider.

A lot of people are more intelligent than you. You may not even be all that intelligent to begin with. We tend to think of ourselves as smarter than regular people because we use "underground' image boards on the internet but this is not true at all. Knowlege is not intelligence.

If you haven't actually interacted with her you obviously know nothing about her. Just because she remains coherant in her speach does not neccessarily mean she's intelligent. For all you know she may as well be an ignorant bitch who loves twilight and television who just happens to have decent social skills. You never can tell what a person is really like unless you actually get to know them. We both know that won't be happening though as you are a /jp/ user and are likely an obese, ugly as shit autist.

That's a real word, you know. See, it's in the dictionary:

I know she doesn't. She reads a lot and dislikes twilight. She says the only redeeming quality she believes it has is it might drive readers them to read other things that are actually worthwhile.

Irregardless is also a "real" word. It's not accepted because of the etymology and is frowned upon by anyone who isn't stupid, but it's real. Many words we use today are not consistent with their etymology but are actually accepted and the older definitions are not used. In the end, words had to start somewhere, no word has more right to be real than another. All a dictionary does is track common usage, in 200 years you might see all sorts of definitions in there that are just plain wrong to us.
