I'm having some trouble with Share, but I already have some suspects but I'd like to ask just to make sure anyway.

Does the router cause port errors when there is more than one person in the network? For example, computer A and computer B being connected.

What can I do to get around those port errors in a way I won't get them anymore? Ports are forwarded and Firewalls have the proper exceptions, by the way. Those Japanese P2Ps sure are tricky when it comes to routers and such.

No one?

If your ports are forwarded for the IP the compute with share is on, it shouldn't interfere with the ports on other people's connections.

No. Everything should work if the ports are actually properly forwarded. Keep in mind that there are 2 versions of Share as far as I remember: tcp and udp. You'll need to enable UDP forwarding for the UDP version and vice versa. Use some port checker like canyouseeme.org to make sure everything is fine if you still haven't done so. Also /g/.

You may also want to check that you specified an up-to-date initial node list inside the program.

Use Perfect Dark instead. Seriously.

My external IP doesn't match the router's IP, so yeah. Trouble for me.

>>6338702
I can only find the TCP version (Share EX2)

>>6338733
I'm using NodeKun and NodeRefresh for that.

>>6338772
The likeliness of a PD having files that are not on Share are quite low, so I only use it when I can find something on Share.

Oops.

You can use Winny without a forwarded port.

Yeah... because that's still used as much as Share came to be.

Windows Firewall, etc. might block connections.

Too bad Perfect Dark isn't so perfect.

you can
buy a decent router

Is a linksys any bad?

Not dark enough it seems.

linksys is pure crap. Use a netgear router, they are hundreds of times better.

>>6338836
You haven't tried that, have you?
Winny although it "works" without portforwarding, it gets incredibly shitty.

>> No.6339119

Did you bother to set up a static ip address on your computer or are you just setting a port forward for the default?
I have alot of trouble with any p2p unless I manually set one up.

>> No.6339133

>>6339116
Will get one when possible.

Still, the router shouldn't be the problem. There are times I manage to get Share to work and download something, but after a while it doesn't work anymore. It's frustrating.

Obtain IP adress automatically. But my external IP address never changes, same for the router's IP.

In other words, I don't know if setting up a static IP makes a difference.
