Challenge: write a spoiler that is under 2 paragraphs. Fucking impossible.

Here's my best try:
When playing as Takeshi you are actually experiencing the first accident in 2017, as Kid you experience an intentional reconstruction of it in 2034. The Takeshi of 2034 is not your player character from 2017 but the Kid from 2017 (you would have noticed if able to see your own face and remember it between playthroughs, finally seeing a mirror will make the whole thing unravel- just as planned.) Wouldn't original-Kid/fake-Takeshi be 34 by the time of the second "accident?" and why would he impersonate the Takeshi the second time around? He IS 34, but stopped aging 12 years ago. As for the second question: he's doing it because you told him to (not You, and not you as 2034 Kid, but as Blick Winkel.) The girl You encountered as Kid (the 2034 one) is a clone of the girl Takeshi (the real one) meet in 2017. Which is why 2034 You is so confused when she finds out that her father died 30 and her mother 15 years ago- they were her grandparents and their daughter was masquerading as her own mother while really being Yous mother. Tsugumi behaves so paranoid in Kids 2034 storyline because she survived the original accident and was manipulated into reliving it for reasons unknown to her (her paranoia of 2034 Takeshi is wholly warranted...)

Only you are in the infinity loop, you are seperate from the characters whose experiences you relive, there were two accidents: You are playing the first one as Takeshi in 2017 and the second one as Kid in 2034, Takeshi is lying to you if playing as Kid because you told him to- so you can manipulate/deceive yourself and everybody else into creating a stable time loop that will overwrite the previous ones.

The very basic hook, going beyond that turns it into TL;DR territory.

2017: Outbreak
Everyone makes it except Coco and Takeshi who die.

After that there would have been no reason for the 2034 plot that leads to them getting saved since Blick got the idea how to save them after going back from 2034 to 2017 and then refining it into the stable time loop idea by going back again. So there is a paradox in there. Either the whole thing is not possible or Blick can see many version of events and their effects and then "overwrite" them. So he would to be a traveler trough time, space and various universes. Which would make him pretty fucking powerful, the only question is how he got involved with it all in the first place since he was "summoned" in 2034 by being tricked (on his own instruction) into thinking he has seen the same thing two times- which would have gotten his attention. So before getting involved the other characters must have done something on their own that caught his eye.

Yeah right, Coco. I forgot about her part in it all.

Depends wether the Copenhagen or Many World interpretation of quantum mechanics is true. If it's the former then he just sees the possibilities in which the wave forms could collapse and there is only one definitive ending past the point of collapse (the true ending) if the latter is true then he actually can go to the various versions and they exist beside each other (all endings, and probably many more actually happened in a universe of their own.) Plot demands.

Though to be fair he had the Cure virus by then so it probably helped and Blick could have gone back just as Tsugumis submarine got out of sight (so as not to tip her off about the self correcting loop)- a few minutes at that depth is possible for the human body. The problem is the constant represurization/depresurization he was undergoing in the last couple hours before, but Cure helped Tsugumi against that.

Also if a fucking God/Demon/Whatever calls you from the dead then you better fucking stand up and get your shit together, even if you're dead on the ocean floor.

Takeshi wasn't drowning infinitely, just for a couple minutes. Survivable if you're willing to stretch it a bit by accepting that Cure makes you more resilient. It did that for Tsugumi and Blick knew that Tsugumi would survive. That's the whole point- him looking into the various universes/ possibilities of waveform collapses.

2034: Blick finds out that Takeshi died and Tsugumi lived.
2017: Blick goes back to wake Takeshi and get him to the cryo-pod. He tells the original You to get them up from there.
2034: Blick goes forward in time sees Takeshi alive but then he gets erased out reality because Takeshi was saved in 2017 and so the motivation for the 2034 events ceased to exsit- and with it the plan to save Takeshi.
2017: Blick goes back and tells original You to not save Takeshi until 2034 so that the effect (takeshi getting saved) does not preceed the cause (the events in 2034 up until them getting saved.
So Blick did exactly what he had to do to make the true ending possible. The only paradox is how the loop got started in the first place, which isn't really one- he created it himself, the real question is how he got into all this and that was answered a couple posts before: Coco is psychic enough to draw his attention in the first place.

Well obviously he didn't play Cocos path. And therefore doesn't know that the Kid he is playing isn't the same and doesn't look anything like the one he sees when playing as Takeshi. That's what unravels the whole thing- the player/Blick seeing himself in a mirror for the first time.

Rereading Kid's route is pretty fun once you finally see all the hints.
You's mom had a robot dog, Pipi.
Tsugumi eats the hotdogs to troll Kaburaki by throwing off his schedule.
Tsugumi is harsh to Kid "joining up with them" because Mama didn't raise him that way

Well Kaburaki had to take care of such things that's why he sticks to you and makes sure he tells you about the current dates and stuff. He probably took care of all calendars too.

>> No.6328072

Great game. A shame that there is absolutely no way this could work out as a movie because you would know there is something wrong when you experience the same events differently (while you are perfectly used to it in VNs and wave it off as what-if scenarios,) also would be suspicious when showing the protagonists faces (which is not a problem in FP-games.) KID really knew how to use your genre sawiness against you to weave another layer of mystery.

The dates where a really cool trick that got lost in translation.
Well, more like translator fuckup.
If read as YY/MM/DD, like how Hokuto reads them, they suggest the current year is 2017. If read as DD/MM/YY, the correct way, they show that the year is 2034.
How bad would it have been if Hokuto had asked somebody besides Kaburaki about the current date?

I thought R11 was pretty mediocre.
It was just a meh experience from start to finish, not even one really thrilling or touching scene.
And all the good part of the plot were completely undeveloped.

It's always interesting to see how a studio can make a stunning game and then go on to make something completely mediocre. You'd expect whoever has written Ever17 to be the next Asimov, or at least Grisham.

The reason she doesn't blow the lid on the whole thing is because she has no idea what the hell is going on, who to trust, and what everyone knows. She has no idea why her former comrades are attempting to do such an inane thing as recreate the tragedy. Tsugumi is mystified, and decides to be a passive observer until she can determine what's going on.

Tsugumi played along because Kaburaki was blackmailing her. Kaburaki convinced her to come "if she ever wanted to see her family again." He was also technically employed by Leiblich. Most of Kaburaki's character is his guilt at the end from hurting and lying to everybody in order to save Takeshi and Coco. He's got balls to fuck around with mama bear Tsugumi.

Who was it in the Tanuki suit?
If I got it right:
2017: Tsugumi (to sneak in for a show of with Lebilich), 2034: You'haru/Kaburaki (to get the whole Blick Winckel self-correcting time loop rolling.)

Then why does she put some random kid (from her viewpoint) into a Tanuki costume. I assume it wasn't her but rather You'haru since she had an interest in him staying there. >> No.6334782

>>6334766
You don't seem to understand that the prologue is seen from both sides: the Kid and the real Takeshi.

You fail to differentiate that all these things happened simultaneously to your viewpoint, but separately to theirs. Also, coincidences happen: Tsugumi could've tried the same Tanuki plan and mistakenly pulled the Kid into it.

It fails to make sense to you because of the disconnect.

>> No.6334933

No, I've got that right: Prolouge is part 2017/part 2034. But why would Tsugumi put Hokotu in the Tanuki costume in 2034. I dosen't make wheter she knew who Hokuto was or not. I'm saying it probably was You'Haru in 2034 and Tsugumi in 2017.
