There seems to be a clear progression in the touhou fandom.

You begin with Marisa or Reimu, the most approachable characters. You try PCB and fail miserably, then read some doujin. The siren spell of ZUN takes hold.

Then you ditch the player characters for something more exotic. Maybe Sakuya leads you the SDM, where you move through the ranks, from the loveable gateguard, or perhaps the hikki, or the eternal lolis.

As you read more doujin, you may become enamored with other character clusters, Eintei and whatnot.

But Mokou... Mokou is a man's passion, and once you reach her level, there is no going back. Even the finest Flandre Scarlet erotica is meaningless to me now.

I first started playing PCB. I saved good Touhou images from /a/, and then from /jp/, but 1CCing PCB on Lunatic is still my primary goal. I played as Reimu A at first, but soon switched to Sakuya A (easiest character). I've already cleared Phantasm, but have yet to make it past Yuyuko on Lunatic.

Mokou sucks. I started with Cirno and stayed with Cirno and will always stick with Cirno. Mokou is honestly one of the least appealing of the whole bunch of them. The only post-PC98 Touhou I can see myself taking Mokou over would be Wriggle (with penis).

Being a JoJo fan, I decided to look into Touhou after I heard Sakuya was a homage to Dio. Now I'm knowledgeable on all the games, though just a casual player, and caught up on all the translated doujins.

The entire Scarlet Devil Mansion is my favorite group. Fuck yeah, JoJo references.
