Hey /jp/.
Me and a couple guys from Tech Protocols are in the middle of designing a game.
It's a visual- novel crossover fighting game (because every visual novel needs a fighting game or SRPG to go along with it)
The gameplay is similar to Marvel vs Capcom 2, but simplified. There are two attack buttons (jab/medium and fierce), 2 assist buttons, and a taunt button. Each character gets 3 specials (236, 214, 22) and 3 supers (236AB, 214AB, 22AB), one of which requires 3 super bars. Pressing both assist buttons has all three character perform their super simultaneously.
We've also implemented a guard-damage system (guarding too often lowers your defense, getting hit a lot raises it).

So who's in it? Here's the current roster:
Heros:
Gii (Sekien no Inganock)
Rance (Sengoku Rance, because that's the only one anyone cares about)
Naoe Riki (Little Busters!)
Nishijo Takumi (Chaos;Head)

Villains:
Houzuki (Sharin no Kuni)
Osaka Bancho (OMGWTFOTL)
Saya (Saya no Uta)

We want at least 10 characters before we release it, so any recommendations will be gladly accepted.

Taoluo in the hero roster. His attacks should be voiced with your best Hak Foo impression.
Yumemi (Extravaganza) in... well, either side works.
Some other Alicesoft protagonist. Like that runt in Galzoo Island, what was his name? Anyway, he'd have monstergirl attacks.

Gii:
Hits hard and covers a large area with his specials and supers, but takes damage like a little bitch.
His normal attacks are the standard punches and kicks you'd expect from a guy like him, but his specials and supers have him using Porschion to attack, covering wide areas and dealing large amounts of damage.
236A - A long-range punch, pushing the enemy
214A – A fireball moving diagonally downwards
22A – An overhead attack, doesn't hit mid

Assists:
Heal (he is a doctor of sorts, so he heals you)

Rance:
Deals damage fairly well and takes it fairly well. An average character with a close-range focus
His normals are good and his specials are good, but he can probably become predictable quickly. He uses his sword so his range and priority beats out some other characters at close range.
236A – A dashing thrust. His main expansion-type move, good for punishing or ending combos at fair range
214A – A short-range swing dealing good damage. Mostly used as a combo finisher.
22A – A low-priority anti-air. Not all that useful but beats out most jump-ins

As a side note, his 214AB super works like a projectile and can be used at long ranges if you're quick/lucky

Houzuki:
Doesn't have high attack or defense, but has lengthy combos and great speed.
This is probably the character most people would use in high-level play. He doesn't deal a lot of damage normally, but if you become adept at using combos linking into air combos, you can deal more damage than most other characters. His normals come out quick but lack priority, and his specials are only used to lengthen his combos. If you can work around this, though, he can probably take on a weakened team alone.
236A – A dashing kick that deals good damage compared to his other attacks but prevents any follow-ups. Useful for ending ground combos.
214A – A hurricane kick kick fast enough to be used inside a combo without finishing it. Obviously can't be used to link infinites together (purposefully, anyways)
22A – A low-priority anti-air that can be used as a short launcher to take combos into the air

Osaka Bancho:
Motherfucking Osaka Bancho. Attack and defense are through the roof, but speed is a massive downside.
Though he lacks the speed to go up against certain characters, he obtains super armour for some of his attacks and can wipe out certain characters with just a few well placed attacks. Working together with assists is a necessity, as well as properly using his to assist your point character. Despite his slow attack speed, movement for him is not 'bad', just below average.
236A – A slow, moving punch (similar to cable's, but with slightly more start-up). Can't regularly be used in combos, but deals crazy amounts of damage and grants super armour. Mostly used with an assist to allow comboability.
214A – A slow grab. Unblockable, but has enough startup time to allow the opponent to get away and/or counterattack. Can be used in a blocked combo as a surprise attack or used while being attacked to surprise and punish. Grants super armour.
22A – Punches the ground, hitting low for the entire area. Used as a projectile of sorts and can be used in combos. Heavy attack grants super armour and deals increased damage at the cost of speed and comboability
