PCB is the better game and is more newfag friendly, but playing EoSD first helps you avoid some bad habits in the long run.

Watch a few videoes and then play only spellcard practice on Imperishable Night. It's one of the *easy* ones since a lot of the spellcards are just pattern memorization, but it pretty much gets you hooked up on the "I can do this just one more try" kind of thing.

Just watch vids for each touhou, pick the one you prefer, then test. If you don't like it, you won't like the other games.
