I've 1cc'd all of the windows Touhou games on normal, PCB and IN on hard, and have beat Extra/Phantasm on all of them except for Fairy Wars.

Not trying to get a rise out of people, but I find IN Stage 4 Marisa to be one of the most fun fights for me right now. I know a lot of people hate it/find it too difficult for a Stage 4 fight, but when you get the knack of it, it becomes really enjoyable without being too easy.

I can barely get past Reimu/Marisa on normal. On easy I beat the game with maximum lives, but it doesn't count. It's still surprising how large is the gap between difficulties.

closest I got to was 8 lives right before Youmu, and dying with 18 seconds left Resurrection Butterfly.
Yuyuko's ephemeral and beautiful danmaku just begs me to stare in awe and lose all the lives.

I've 1CCd EoSD (on hard too~), SA, and Fairy Wars. Cleared the extra stages in EoSD and FW, working on clearing it in SA. Right now I've managed to figure out how to avoid all of Koishi's LIEBE in "Release of the lid" and "Super Ego", which had been screwing me over for my last week of attempts. I've managed to get to the very start of her final spellcard, before dying before the old one got cleared off.
I'm guessing another day or two should see me beat her. I'm really looking forwards to fapping to the porn of her afterwards.

(started on EoSD, and it was an EoSD normal 1cc, never touched easy mode)

The jump from hard -> lunatic is a bigger kick in the balls though

That really depends on how often you're playing. After dicking around in lunatic mode I put aside PCB for about two months and went back at it regularly for about a week before I was able to 1cc.

Once you start clearing the upper levels, redo them in practice mode until you get them right. In the normal game as you get further, unless you've practiced, you tend to play more conservatively and repeat the same mistakes without experimenting.

Hmm yeah, i'm playing EoSD at the moment on normal. For the most part i can get up to the 4th stage boss without continuing (sometimes without losing a life), but then i just get completely buttraped and use up all my continues.

never really bothered to study patterns at all though, always just winged it for the most part. Obviously i have picked up a few patterns just from playing though, but never intentional study of those patterns.

No deaths, no bombs. I don't know the game well enough to do a purposeful border breaks for scoring, so I've been avoiding that, but I guess it doesn't have to be a condition as long as it is justified. I still haven't been able to do it, I always die at least once or mistime something horrendously. I should get back to actually working on that. I can definitely beat at least 1.6 billion if I stop being a dummy.

It took maybe a dozen attempts to recognize the times that it was safe to gap, beyond that, I was already pretty familiar with streaming that part of the stage. Still, it took me maybe ~50 runs before I got all of it in one go. It's still incredibly easy to get walled by Orin or simply fail to DBDB. I only did it because I was bored of the PCB no focus thing, and pacifist has always been fun for me. That and I'm addicted to SA.
