Two really good vampire movies that I'd like to suggest to /jp/ right now:

1. Let The Right One In, 2008.
Follows this kid Oskar around and his encounter with Eli, a new neighbor of his. They form an odd friendship (communicating through the wall in morse code) and, well, it moves slowly at first and then a lot of the plot happens, I don't know how to explain it without ruining everything. Got remade in American English under the title Let Me In, which Rotten Tomatoes gave an 88% to, so mite b cool, who knows. Both are based off a book.

2. Thirst, 2009. Directed by Chan-wook Park, who directed Oldboy (if you haven't seen Oldboy jesus christ what are you doing torrent that shit right now) directed this, too. It follows around a priest (his bloodtype is A) who undergoes a vaccine testing for a disease known as the Emmanuel Virus, a disease that leaves lesions on the inside and the outside. The visuals are stunning, and the acting is superb.

Animation wise, it's looking great, thank god. Extremely faithful to the artstyle in the game. The downside is that everything else feels kinda generic in the first ep, especially the MC. I could let it pass ina regular anime season, but for those who don't check on /a/, the current one includes another game-based anime MC that looks generic but acts like a hero, a guy who actually acts like the big brother he's supposed to be, and the capturing god himself. That's some tough competition, and as I said, it feels generic, but hopefully that will change eventually.
