If you put Blast Bazooka on either of them, they can become very lethal to AIR.

However, D-girl gets an extra point for anti-air because her built-in rockets do a lot more damage to AIR than does Lily's psybeams.

Sorry I got pissy mad yesterday, I've been busy all day. Anyway.

I was ok with being passed up, I even said I understood in game and was ok with it. I had every intention of giving up my space for someone else, 10 players is way too low and I understood someone had to go. What I got pissed at was people telling me my bot was shit and my gun was for fag newbies which basically told me the reason why I was being passed up was not because it was full but because I was a shit player. I ran those games between Hotglue and Hotglue over and over in my mind to figure out what went wrong. I realize because I field not one but two large heavy bots while all of Hotglue prefers medium bots at the largest. I have a Thorla Nimbus and a Sturbanger as my primary mechs with a Crimrose, or a Ijuna Kamui Nagi, or a Winbell as backup. They're slow and easy targets and because it was Sunset City, a huge wide map, and it was 6 on 6 or 7 on 7 everyone dispersed. That meant I was a sitting duck for all the fast bots to chase me down, which is exactly what they did.

I absolutely require the assistance of allies, in a 5 on 5 slugfest, which is what many battles turn into, I'm going to be able to take a lot of damage for being a large bot and I'm going to be able to deal out a shit ton. I'm quite good at it. I've tried small fast bots, Seraph Crimrose, Lily Rain, even Ivis, I'm not as good with them as I am with the heavy weapons.

But if you take away my allies and I'm screwed. In those 2 fights I found myself alone and the target of quick small fliers with auto beam rifles. All I could do was shoot in circles while they flew around my head.

At that time people started making fun of my Thorla Nimbus being shit and giving it a stardust canon was just turning a shit bot into a less shit bot and that I was just a stardust fag. Someone said my bot was useless moe trash, someone else said I was just out there tossing snowballs and I lost it.

Hotglue loves large mechs only because they love to kill them. We have a guild of quick bots that easily run circles around our enemy while we shoot them in the face. We apparently find someone that uses those same large bots to be silly sitting targets. I'm one of those players, I took their punishment. It might even be deserved, big heavies are hard to play and easily sitting ducks. I know that, which is why I gave my Sturbanger fly so I can reach ledges and get out of the way. Doesn't work if you're alone though, if you're alone you're too big to do anything but die, I think HG hates that desperately. Little bots for life. The same results are in Japan, 9/10 of all bots are tiny and every match is hoppers, hoppers everywhere!

Anyway, I'd been training all week for that tournament, I sacrificed half my bots for parts to trade for upgrade items, I had no money and had to play half a dozen arenas to pay for the cost of protectors for one more roll at an upgrade. All that effort to be laughed at and passed by upset me but Hotglue seems to mock all players of large bots regardless of who they are simply because we prefer, and perhaps rightfully so seeing our domination of the game, speed over strength.

Which is why I'm over it. I don't think they had anything against me personally, just that all players of large slow bots are silly.

At least half of the upper tier robots are L sized, thoarla just sucks and sturbanger is so-and-so, needs lots of tec and fly and some skill to play. Don't use sturbanger arms and stick around your team. You really shouldn't have trouble fighting a seraph if you have high fly and short boost. If your aim is bad use blast bazookas, just because you are art doesn't mean you have to stand in one spot, hop and unload, hop and unload, etc.

I also find it hilarious that /jp/ claims its motto is taking it easy and then they don't let their own players play and get ringers instead. Just who are you so afraid of? You act like you would commit mass suicide if you lost to loyalty or something, already saw some players who play nothing but ivis and cards in hotglue like kanbara.

Swap out your arms for Crimrose/Lily Rain/etc arms. Pacifier arms works pretty well too if you want a spare beam gun/do some awesome beam spam alpha-strike. Swap out your default leg too if you are still using it. That dropkick is pure useless. As for weapons, if you want to go anti-air, go for paralyzer or handy bazooka (I think it's handy, not sure, air can only equip one type). A viper shield is always good if you have trouble surviving. How high is your TEC and FLY? You need pretty high stats on those two.

The point is that you use the "core" you like, and play as a challenge to make her work. For example, I main Lazflamme despite being super low-tier. Heck, I swap out all of her parts for looks really, I can be using better parts like Ouka's leg or her default legs for another BS, and arms that are lighter, have better stats, and are better at holding shields, etc. I chose core, the arms and legs for looks, and then I build around it. In my opinion, this is more exciting and challenging than simply playing a high-tier bot or common setups. I mean, if I'm using a low-tier Lazflamme that looks good and still ranking top 10 or higher every game, that's something to brag about instead of playing a L Air/Ivis/etc. If you cared that much about performance, just go play some cardhoppers or L AIR with ABR, stardust and/or Shaden boosters.

I rape Ivis and Ouka with my AIR. The problem is that they wreak havoc on our team with suicide rushes ANYWAYS, regardless of skill level. And that always costs our teams a lot of points. Air Loop is an inconvenience because they're alway dodging the explosives that are meant to counter AIR.

The problem with those kinds of LND bots is that they cannot be repelled. If you put a blast bazooka to an AIR bot, he's going back the fuck up. You can't do that to LND bot, mostly because LND bot doesn't get paid if he doesn't do any dmg.

Actually, I lied. There is one solution, a Winberrl's vines will stop a LND bot dead in its tracks. It's a little tricky, though.

Winberrl is a godly bot, but people are not using her like she was designed to or can't use her efficiently. Nobody uses her drawgun anymore, and those things are fucking bot destroyers if you've never faced them before. Yes, Winberrl doesn't get much attack or support score for using them, but "drawing" your opponent = your opponent can't move at all (can't run any direction, even forward), and slowly get sucked right into your team. You honestly don't even need to use your vines before your victim get wrecked to death. I've actually died once to a Winberrl with drawgun from full health. I'm actually more afraid of drawguns than Ouka and Ivis.

My problem with drawguns is that their ammo runs out too quickly. Lack of scoring is another problem. Only way to use them and get points is to M1+M2 with bazookas, and you run out of ammo even faster.

Yeah good luck. I don't have the $100 to throw into the game for that much tec. I tried to upgrade one of my cheap UC bots and at 40% broke each and every slot on his body trying to get even 1 extra point into tec (there were 5).

I overestimate the hoppers because they piss me off fiercely, there's really not that many of them, there's some bots with sway too and I gave one of my frog bots swim whatever the hell that does.

Still half the players have lasers. Probably because they're affordable for UC and nobody wants to throw cash down for anything better. I imagine if I played the unranked matches where everyone's stars and crowns I'd see a lot more crazy shit going on but I stay the hell away from there.

The drawguns have too much cost, one version can't even equip weapons, only have 50 ammo and can be interrupted by people getting in your line of fire. The bind is much more practical, since it goes through people and terrain, so you can use it to stop Ivis/Ouka players that like rushing the powerpoint when you're healing. Good luck using drawguns with any success in a crowd.

Winberrl user here, started playing it after I bought it at random to try out SUP and as soon as I figured out that vines and drawgun were actually useful instead of my first "wow, shit" thoughts I haven't turned back. Can be hard to catch Ouka/Ivis thanks to the way they dart around and the lead-in time on getting vines up but damn is it the best feeling seeing the smug bastards unable to move and getting some payback.

Problem I've come across lately is that they've started to figure out that half the time they'll still be close enough to use melee against me, so it's still quite tricky to use, but fun none the less.

I've exclusively fielded a Winberrl Ellen/Vesca duo since CB1. Of what I've seen, the shop Winberrl's thorns are severely underpowered compared to the Garapon versions. Ellen's thorns are fantastic at blockading tunnels and setting up a net to trap Ivis/Ouka that rush the power point. The range is good enough to trap melee at a point where they can't hit you. Vesca's thorns are more agressive, they shoot out at long range but cover a narrow area. They shoot faster, so it's easier to trap people in the field, but last somewhat less. Ellen's thorns deploy at maximum range a tad slower but can stay there for a substantial amount of time, allowing you to blockade a chokepoint through the terrain while repairing.

I've replaced the drawguns with Jikun Hu arms for less cost and a boost to movement speed, especially since Vesca's arms cannot hold weapons. I'm using a paralyzer as an alternative to the drawguns, it offers similar functionality while having decent damage and ammo to last you through a whole match.

I'd suggest you roll Garapon 1 until you get either Ellen or Vesca, since their thorns allow you to bind from behind cover/at range, but your mileage might vary.

Also, Winberyl arms + dual bazookas (especially Handy Bazookas on small bots with Sniper Sight) is great. You can do a good 300+ unavoidable damage on AIR units (or just plain kill them if you have high TEC, I use an Elme S. with 13TEC) by catching them off-guard with a burst.

I prefer Pinkberrl for binding land. Ellen and Vesca can bind air much easier though and they are better at holding a choke point as you pointed out. Pinkberrl however just gives a big fuck you to all land units around her. I also like it since when I'm healing at a power spot and am completely crowded, if I happen to be the one person to see that Ivis bum rush us I can use my thorns which will reach maximum range by the time it reaches us. They can't see the thorns expand before its too late. Since they spread in a circle it doesn't matter from where they come at me.

Not saying Pinkberrl is better or anything but personal preference can go a long way in a game like this. People interested in the play style should try all versions out and decide then. Or maybe you just want a specific hair color and make whatever you're stuck with work somehow.

Personally the main reason I use Pinkberrl despite having the other two is it's more realistic to have a Pinkberrl when the game goes live than to garapon for the others. I'm actually interested in playing past the beta stages but I don't want to spend a cent. So I figured I might as well learn to play Pinkberrl now. Not to claim I'm an expert at using her but I certainly appreciate her core weapon more. I'm definitely remaking my current set up when the game goes live although it requires shop Bugsycait arms which will take me a while without spending money and this is assuming we even get the same UC to RT trading events as the japanese version does.

I'm thinking the same, the only thing that's stopping me from trying out the shop Winberrl now is that I'd have to level it from scratch, and I just don't play enough to acheive that before beta ends. I heard the rank up bot rewards have changed/will change to include a shop Winberrl, is that true? It would be great to have my bot of choice available right off. What worries me is repair bits, the only way to get them other than random mission rewards seems to be star coins, and I'd hate to be stuck with the mini version after beta is over.

With the Ivis age ending after beta, Winberls might not be as useful as they are now, though. I suspect there'll be a huge shift from land to air/artillery, with the remaining land units not being a substantial threat which would undermine Winberrl's usefulness.

Unfortunately I've got very little UC since I started not that long ago and I haven't been in any of the events that give away heaps (timezone, etc), and what little I do have goes to buying new commandos to try find types that I like. Been wanting to try garapons and will be giving them a spin after my next commando, and like >6237063 said it's all personal pref so I might as well grab the other Winberrls and give them a spin to see for myself which one fits best (or just give in and troll around with all three in my lineup).

what the fuck should I do with my shino? I tried pile bunker arms, jethammers, lancerlot arms, and shotgun shields but I can't settle on a combination I like. I just want something that can kill ivis/ouka/cardspammers.

I have heard this was the case in the japanese version but I couldn't tell you for sure. I am certainly hoping that is true though. If anything Tempura was saying the rank up rewards for this version were still to be decided for when it goes live. He seemed to like the idea of making the three fangirls, Destructor, Zero Saber and Mecha Jetter girls the starting robot options to replace the current Lily Rain, Crimrose and Jikun. In fact the current ones being replaced is pretty much set in stone since Crimrose is a UC bot in the japanese version if memory serves. In general I guess they would want to appeal to the people playing this for the little girl robots since they are the majority. Lazflamme, Winberrl and if I'm not mistaken even Lily Rain were rank up rewards at one point in time in the japanese version. I'm only going off things I heard though so take this information with a grain of salt.

As for the repair bits, I intend to run a lot of quest mode for parts, tune up materials and just UC in general when this goes live so I should rack up a fair amount. During the first week of the first open beta I did about three Arcantus runs and walked out with 40 repair bits at the end of that week. Drop rates were boosted though so that's not a fair estimate. We might actually need to be stingy with our healing if we want to use repair bits but if you run Arcantus as often as you play arena you should be pretty set as far as repair bits go.

On the other hand with HP tune ups and high HP cash shop robots down in numbers after launch we might not even need a repair bit to fully heal someone and could afford to use the mini version. I don't actually know how bad the mini is compared to the other one. I guess we'll find out eventually.

Yes and no. You get a Winberyl, however, it is a special variant with the arms fixed.

However, it's rather easy to get the robots you want in JPCB, unless they're Garapon-only. It just takes a month or two of sucking (or if you want to be an ass, bazookahopping with a Froglander), then you'll be up to par, especially since JPCB now rains you nice accessories and 3s parts for some bizarre reason.

You get +8FLY for 70COST with the slotted Wing Plus AMJs on CBJP, which, albeit a bit expensive cost-wise, fixes your lack of tune ups quite well for S and M AIR.

This is what I have on CBJP right now. Spent ~100Rt for her whole setup (50 for Tesladonna from Garapon, 50 for buying Izuna Kamuy) save the earrings (gotten from Thoarla Nimbus from Garapon), all gained from Rt conversion events and UC Garapon (which has a Rt prize too. ) Works decently, though it'd be nice if I can get TEC to 20.

Yeah, golden ones. +4FLY -2WLK, 35COST. Since they can be tuned up very easily (I have about 20 in total, I can fail them all I want) it's worth the high COST.

Can't hit much with them, since I use a touchpad. I also failed a tuneup on the elecgun arm, and since it can't hold shields/costs too much I no longer use it.

Low range hurts it quite a bit, but the bullets are fast (almost accelgun speed) and the stun is good when it does hit. Overall not really worth it due to lackluster range.

My favorite thing to do in a Winbell is equip her with rapid fire bits and go on a rampage. I get best supporter sometimes charging an enemy's power spot. What's great is your team uses you as a mobile power spot and can tear through an enemy line. Even if I fail suck and die I like to know I helped out my team.

Too bad in jCB I don't have the cash for rapid fire bits and all that drops in the arena are heal bits. I don't know what it'll be like in enCB out of beta.
