>beginner japanese book in english

it wouldn't be a japanese book. It would a an english book with japanese in it.

If you want a book to teach you japanese with english you should get genki. 「げんき」

Although maybe you should learn english a bit better first since it does not seem to be your first language.

Enter a proper japanese class and don't mention anime, manga, VNs or games. That might even give the impression to your teacher that you are noit a faggot.

Indeed, English is not my first language, but I can understand the writing English very well, and It would be easier to get a english book than a spanish one.

I'm not into that kind of things. I just want to learn another language beside English. Mandarin is also an option, but I like more the nippon culture.

Avoid any source that starts with teaching you sentences that end with だ or る. Otherwise, you won't be polite.

You can do that, but more than likely your teacher will know. I've been living the life for the past five years or so and only recently decided to take a Japanese class. After scoring perfect or near perfect on all my assignments and more than 100% on a test, my teacher confronted me and asked if I studied Japanese in the past. I didn't know what to say, so I just said that I had self-studied in the past. Anything is better than telling them you learned Japanese watching anime and listening to music.

Yes, I know. She doesn't really know much about anime unless it's Astroboy. There aren't really any weeaboo in my class and most students are 25+, but there is one that sometimes mentions recent anime and she doesn't care. Some mention Miyazaki films, she doesn't know who he is.
