Upload/request music using your browser: http://skully.hopto.org

Listen to the stream using your music player: http://skully.hopto.org:8000
If it lags/fails, please connect manually to one of the relays in the second post.

FAQ: http://skully.hopto.org/playing.php?page=faq

If the stream is full, please connect to one of the relay servers. More information is in the second post.

>> No.6207428

As of right now, it's possible to upload both MP3 and OGG files, but keep in mind OGG files do not properly display their tags on the site. This means that it'd be best to remove any Japanese from an OGG file before uploading it, if possible.

As always, feedback is always appreciated. Post any error messages you get, post opinions, suggestions, whatever.

Main server holds 7 users. There are a number of relay servers up that automatically redirect you when the main server is full, so don't worry. If you are not automatically redirected, you can manually connect to them. There's a page on the main site to check what relays are currently up.

Here's a list of the currently known relay servers:

http://pyonta-kun.kicks-ass.org:8000 (hosted by Pyonta-kun's Yandere Stalker)
http://hentai.student.utwente.nl:8000 (hosted by leofox!tkMd2Fh4DM)
http://www.yukkurishiteitte.net:8000 (hosted by Kaguya is a !BEaRD8DGAI)
http://doujinplay.net:8000 (hosted by Anonymous)
http://home.kamokow.com:8000 (hosted by Anonymous)
http://kaguya.eientei.com:8000 (hosted by Anonymous)
http://boof.kicks-ass.org:8000 (hosted by BOOF)
http://warosu.org:8000 (hosted by Anonymous)
http://yamaxanadu.tarball.us:8000 (hosted by Anonymous)
http://g.faghats.com:8000/jp.mp3 (hosted by Anonymous)
http://shoutcast1.rootnode.net:1100/jpradio (hosted by Relay 'Server' Guy)

You can still submit logo's for the website. Make sure it's 300x100 and I'll make sure it's in the rotation. Lets see some of that /jp/ creativity.

Also, if you'd like to join our Skype chatroom, you can search for Jaypee Radio. Once you add that account, you should be accepted to the chatroom shortly. It may also be a nice idea to let us know in the thread that you've added the radio account, so we can get to your request faster.

/jp/ Radio is created for /jp/, by /jp/. If you guys have any questions whatsoever, feel free to ask them in this thread.

Take it easy, Anon.
Enjoy the stream!

I thoroughly enjoy the stream, but perhaps you should update the relay list, since many of them are down all the time, e.g. http://g.faghats.com:8000..

>> No.6207724

>>6207550
We like to keep them up, because sometimes relays go down for a while and then come back up out of the blue. Kinda like the current state of my relay (Pyonta-kun.kicks-ass.org:8000).

Though, before I forget, lemme see if we can add Relay Server's guy relay on the list, even if we don't catch how many people are on it.

My guess is something is blocking the XMLHttpRequest. Maybe NoScript or some "safety level" that I think IE uses. It also doesn't work if you try to get something from a different domain or port, but it doesn't look like that's happening here.

As I only heard the first few minutes since the song is prone to be skipped, I'll have to admit I'm not really in a position to judge the song.

Not really a good choice of troll song. Long songs are ineffective with a skip method in place. 30 seconds of harsh noise would be more suited. Hell, even something off Vein would be a bigger troll. You'd almost think that someone just wanted to listen to the song.

I'm the opposite. It probably ruins the experience, but I always think about how good the music is, how fitting it is for the current scene, what the producers were thinking when making that music and deciding to put it here (or maybe deciding to make the music to reflect the scene). And then I do and never listen to it again. /jp/ radio is giving me an excuse to go back and listen to some to see if I can upload any that you might like.

Actually, it is quite hard:
You can't block by name/metadata, they will upload it with different info.
You can't block by IP, they will use a proxy.
You can't block by length, arbitrariness aside it would cause problem with other songs and they can change the length.
You can't block by request time, arbitrariness aside it would cause problem with other songs and they can vary that as well.

If you have any other ideas (short of locking down the station) feel free to bounce them off us.

Not really sure what I'm looking for.

One would think there would be problems with something like that tho. (Now granted I don't know how the stuff works) it seems like there be problems, if the song is a little different (ie. entire song 0.2 octaves higher/lower with random variation) so the analysis program does not recognise it as being the specific offending song as the 'graph' does not match the one on record. And it (probably) would not be able to (reliably) identify them on a lower level as it would get lots of other songs of similar genres as well.

People complained about the loading time of all the icons, so I wanted to fix this by putting them in categories (which they already were, just not visually) so people can get the icons they want and don't have to wait for icons they don't care about. This is done using javascript and the dropdown box

The cookies are used to communicate with the form. The icon list is in a different section of the form so I thought of using a cookie to send the icon data with the form as I don't know if I can access the icon data outside the form. I'm not that familiar with javascript.

So I gotta think of a way to have a dynamic page without javascript and cookies. When I say dynamic, I probably have to use javascript anyway, but I might be able to avoid using cookies...Unless you want the old big list of icons again.

Frames and links.

>> No.6246330

>>6246295

Hard to say without seeing the actual script, but any reason why just plain links to the icon categories wouldn't work?

i.e. "req.php?icon_cat=touhou?songid=blah" would just load the whole request window again with the Misc icons and a button to actually put in the request.

>> No.6246346

>>6246330
The main problem is that the icons fall outside of the dedication form. If I would use a frame for the icons, the icon page would fall outside of the dedication form, so I can't send the icons with the dedication button (which is the current case but instead of a frame the icon data is set in a div and I use cookies to send data to the form outside the div). I could create a seperate form for the icons, but then we'd have 2 buttons. I'm trying to avoid that as I want the user to submit 1 form for both.

If I would put all the icons in one element, I'd have to reload the whole page everytime the user switches categories. This will screw up anything that is written in the dedication field and will cause the window to reload which is another 1-2 seconds of wait time I should be able to avoid.

Also, you should be able to view the javascript code. It's right there in the source of req.php because I couldn't put it in a seperate .js file. I don't want to use frames unless I absolutely need to (which I shouldn't). They suck.

There isn't anything wrong with that, really... and it's more or less the "normal" way of doing it with just PHP.

Think about it - you have to wait for the new icons to load, anyway. And you'll have actual indication that it's loading, too (the way it is now, it's kind of hard to tell what's going on - especially if the server is a bit slow).

As for the form data, just pass it on to req.php, and have it pre-fill the form when it loads. Perhaps you'll be able integrate iconsget.php back in, as well.

>I don't want to use frames unless I absolutely need to (which I shouldn't). They suck.

That depends on what you're planning to do. A while back, I got a lot of requests of live DJing for the stream. Me and stalker would rather not fulfill this job and Moe only did some live mixing. The live shows we did weren't a success either. Add us on skype (Jaypee radio) and we can see if we can figure something out.

Which brings me to another subject. Would people still like to see live DJing on the stream? I was planning to have shows on the radio with set days and times so people can actually expect them and not interrupt their requests.

I wish you could search for song titles. Also I wish there was an option to delete songs from database, someone played a 20 minute song, well I guess I was the only one listening because it wasn't skipped (instead of my vote).

Search revamp has been someone on Pyonta's To-do list for quite a while now, along with some kind of song report system (I forgot what he planned to do with this though, and I might have been the one that suggested it...)

Thanks for the feedback. Gives us a better idea on how much demand there are for certain updates, so they can receive higher priority.

(Also helps my horrible memory)

>Also I wish there was an option to delete songs from database

That wouldn't be a good idea, but a flag system (to flag a song for inappropriate music or because there are multiple entries) could help improving the quality of the stream.

>> No.6259492

>>6259466
Might be possible to allow users to delete their own songs based on IP, if they upload multiples or make a mistake with an upload or something.

Probably better to just have a report system though, where people can probably leave comments like "I uploaded a double by accident" or something.

Why must people upload so many half decent songs with completely wrong titles? Trying to find the current one, and all it sends me to is a completely unrelated song.

I can see the reasoning to do that for troll songs, even if the whole idea of uploading those seems like a waste of time, but on legit songs? Come on.
