Should I watch the anime or read the VN?

>> No.6203290

Both. VN first.

>> No.6203308

Play manga, read anime, watch VN.

>> No.6203320

VN.

The anime is a decent adaptation, only really hindered by Studio DEEN's subpar animation.

Not that the VN drawings are any good.

But you can apply the patch and have the best of both worlds.

>> No.6203434

Haven't done the VN.

The anime was really really good though.

I think the VN would be unplayable with the original sprites. They are just unreasonably hideous.

While I think that DEEN's Umineko Revamp was needed, at least Umineko's natural art has charm.

I'm curious, how is the BGM for it?

>> No.6203449

I've just started Higurashi, and I really don't mind the art. But what are these alternate sprites?

>> No.6203463

>>6203434

I'm curious about that too.

Is the BGM as good as the Umineko one?

Same question as OP.
Just in regards to School Days.
Also nice boat and all that...

Do neither, spare your brain. Unless you like watching a adull, droopy, complete asshole get girls for no reason whatsoever.

The only good thing about it are the death scenes. Makoto bleeding to death gave me a boner.

The VN's art doesn't really pull you away from any of it, considering how seldomly its actually even shown. And you get used to it really fast. The anime was very distracting, with many scenes that were unsettling or even terrifying in the vn version becoming unintentionally hilarious because of the shoddy animation.

I was going for the cheap thrills.
The VNs would be the less toned down of the two correct?

>> No.6203539

>>6203490

Neither. Both feature a bland, rage inducing story and bad animation. You can find the various bad endings from the VN all over the Internet, as I'm assuming that's what made you interested in the first place. Also, the VN's h-scenes are incredibly mediocre and can also be found all over the Internet if you need to see them.

watch School Days, play Cross Days.
