Technically, Gilgamesh was collecting treasures ages before Arcueid ever existed. Arcueid only inherited the fortune of the True Ancestors and the Crimson Moon.

Arcueid doesn't seem to have anything in her possession of much merit besides "rich" things, whereas Gilgamesh is pretty much defined by the fact that he has collected pre-Noble Phantasms/Noble Phantasms by the fistful.

Because he's hilarious, has deep moments, is actually more complex than meets the eye, and he's pretty much a breath of fresh air compared to the heroes, even the flawed ones, that I've seen before.

Yeah, I'll give you this. But in every new game, they are generally pushed really far back that his development isn't shown until the next 'serious' thing happens.

In some situations in IV and Sengoku, other characters have stated outright that he doesn't 'KNOW' that his treatment of women is wrong. He thinks that because he's 'of a higher power', everything he does is 'right'.

He lives in a world that has women getting violated a lot. In battle, that is a norm that he limited to "only he can fuck the captured women" so it became a non-norm for Oda. In peacetime, he works towards just getting it consensually first. He also uses it as punishment for wicked women. He believes that rape is wrong except if he does it because he fancies himself the greatest hero ever and that women will be happy about it because no means yes. In this case, he just ignores the norms because he's an exception, not because he thinks it's good. He thinks he's entitled to it.

Like how Gilgamesh thinks that everything is his and taking them is only right, because of his sense of superiority. He knows that stealing is wrong. But what he does can't be considered stealing because he owns everything.

Well, Rance and Gilgamesh being alike is probably why I like them both, but I still don't see how their character traits make them cliche.

One of my favorites has to be Haisherra. Shes baddass and altough shes a war maniac, she does understand when theres time for it and respects those she deems worthy. She also can be pretty evil bitch sometimes and gentle mentoring one at other moments. Shes also a bro when you get to be her friend. Overall I found her interesting, fun and awesome character at sametime, and hey she acomplished the very thing that the villains of the series try to acomplish, gotta give credit from that too.

He's a hero. He's the villain of the story, but he's a hero. A champion of the world and humanity. He's a king. He rules and guides.
He's just very, very prideful. From his eyes, all Saber and Shirou are, what every Heroic Spirit that he doesn't consider equal is, are merely mongrels and children playing with his treasures, who refuse to bow to the true king and give unto him what is his.
