/jp/, I have a huge problem. I bought a new laptop and it works great, except for one thing: I can't move diagonally to the north-west and south-east in Touhou shooters. What should I do? I can't get used to it, I keep losing.

I got the same problem. There is actually no way to solving this instead of plugging a secondary keyboard on your laptop.
Acer crap!

That's not a bad idea.

You could get a key remapper of some sort and map the arrow keys to IJKL for example.

>> No.6189239

while we are on the subject, in PCB while playing with a gamepad (dualshock2), when i press the shoot button it goes into focus mode after a second or so. Any ideas on how to fix it?
None of that "use a keyboard" nonsense either, i suck at Touhou at the best of times

>> No.6189244

Using my old n52 SpeedPad for controls on the left side because I recently realized how much I love the directional keys on the keyboard. Could always use a key remapper to figure out what doesn't jam, but it didn't work out so well in my case.

Might buy the latest version of the SpeedPad eventually, and now I have a chance to share this raw of my shitty setup in action.

This won't help because the problem is not, that the arrow keys are broken or something - the problem lies beyond the technology of the integrated laptop keyboard.

I feel ya, man. My keyboard on my desktop won't let me focus-move to the right while shooting. Gets me killed a lot.

Sorry I can't help but people who use a keyboard to play shmups are morons.

OP here. I just realized that my old keyboard for my deskop pc isn't USB! What do I do now?

I know. Some keyboards simply have the problem with specific keys such as the arrow keys. I fixed this exact same problem by remapping on an Ubuntu laptop once.

It's not like you leave your house anyway.

There is a setting called "Slow shot" in the options. Disable it.
Using this setting makes you go into focus unless you tap the shot button like in arcade shmups.

oh wow...my space doesn't work with both shift keys depressed...

but back on topic, you can get one of those generic ps2-style USB controllers for like $10. They work reasonably well.

Surely you can acquire more and find some shitty joystick or USB keyboard made in China. Temporary solution.
