I can't be fucked finding the posts in this thread about what classes Merlin and Robin Hood would be, so you don't get quotes.

I thought a Heroic Spirit could be summoned as any class, even if that would fuck them over. Like Hercules being unable to actually USE his Noble Phantasm (Nine Lives) because Berserkers can't use bows.

The King of Swords would naturally be a King whose legacy is primarily revolved around swords, or many legends of swords. Possibly a King who forged swords that could defeat any enemy, or carried many swords on him. Basically, his greatest achievement has to be related to multiple swords or a sword that surpasses all other swords.

Well, Arthur with his sword of selection, sword from the lady of the lake etc, is the one closest to that.

Then you have legendary sword wielders, like Siedfried (Dragon Slayer, he would fuck up Saber), Roland etc.

There hasn't been anyone in mythology who was THAT particular about swords aka having many of them or forging them himself, that I can think of.

Right. There's been plenty of famed sword wielders, but none of their actual achievements are the swords themselves. King Arthur is famous for drawing Caliburn from the stone, and receiving Excalibur, but that isn't King Arthur's greatest achievement in life as a King.

Arthur's greatest success is uniting Britain, and forming the greatest and most powerful/famed order of knights in the world. Just as Iskander is famed for being the King who is the greatest conqueror.

Hence why it's hard to decide on a King of Swords - plenty of famous sword-users, but none who fill the criteria of their biggest achievement being a sword itself.
