There doesn't really seem to be a point in struggling to get the rank 5 weapons unless you can get close to a +15 bonus on it... There's just too little improvement over the Boss Rush weapons. Arma is the obvious exception.

Okay, fuck the encyclopedia. The rarity of this goddamn horn passes from "tedious", all the way through "ridiculous" and settles firmly into "who the fuck though thought this could possibly be a good idea". Simple instructions:

1: Invest as much as possible up to the point of filling your shelves, but no more.

2: Make 2 adventures and precisely 2, both as early as the game will let you. Get free items to jump-start your assets, then adventure no more. Ignore ingredients, fill your bag with the most expensive items you can take home.

3: Price goods at around 110%, you want to never have to haggle so you will get more EXP and your merchant level will raise faster - this unlocks better goods for bigger profits.

4: Don't waste any time, time is money. Keep your store open as much as you can.

5: Don't buy anything you don't expect to sell ASAP. Things like vending machines and HP boosts can come after you've cleared the story for your first time.

If you do all this, clearing the game shouldn't be too hard. Save every day, reload if bad luck leaves you with less money than you were expecting to get.

Yeah, early on. Once you get a good merchant level you'll make far more money from selling items in your first loop, and keeping your shop open is how you raise your merchant level. A little bit of adventuring will supplement your starting assets, a lot of adventuring will stunt your EXP growth and keep you from reaping the big profits in the late weeks.

The point is to try to never haggle with customers because you get less EXP that way. You want to level up as quickly as possible in your first loop so you can unlock the better items, that's how you make the 500k payment at the end.

I'm already through my first loop, and I got through it just fine without the good luck of having any good reds to take advantage of.
