Fuck, the amount of Touhou music is growing faster than hard disk sizes. I didn't expect that.

>> No.6157144

That torrent is full of shit albums, I can't see why anyone would want to download all of it besides severe OCD.
It's not like all touhou music is there anyways.

It's nice and convenient, really. Sure, a lot of it sucks, but it's a nice way to get automatic updates every few months without having to spend weeks whoring the Comiket threads.

Plus, sometimes if you random through it you find an awesome circle you never heard of before.

It's the only way I could fit it on one graph while still being able to see it all.

You'll just need to store it in the cloud.

Better work on your metadata.

This is a prediction. OP is predicting that the universe will implode, i.e. our doom. He'll just have to get in line; Jehovah's witness & co. have had their own thing going way before the internet even existed.

Anyway, I'm more concerned about the bandwidth; who the fuck uploads ~1TB in one seed?

>> No.6157331

I predict the Touhou music archive's rate of growth will decrease in a few years.

If you are using multiple hard drives, it's probably going to be for RAID and not just to have a huge amount of storage space.

>> No.6157348

>>6157331
All you need now is a cool graph and you'll win cred.

>>6157335
There are some very impressive RAID arrays, and furthermore clusters, out there already; which doesn't only sport high storage capacity but also fail-safe operation.

Use sure are using marketing speak, but the fact remains that you are using multiple drives for redundancy in case one fails and not extra storage.

>> No.6157381

>>6157335
All levels of RAID except 1 increase storage size compared to a single disk. RAID 6 for example gives you n-2 capacity where n is the number of disks in the array. So if you have 5 2TB disks you get 6TB of storage and 4TB of parity which means at any time up to two disks can fail without data loss.
Furthermore RAID is not necessary if you just want more storage. You can just plug in more disks and use them separately.

>> No.6157405

>>6157381
That's true, but if you have five 200 GB disks, that's only 600 GB that can be used for storage and 400 GB that is used for redundancy. And, yes, if I'm getting enough power for all these hard drives I want to have back up in case one fails.

I wonder for how much longer this will go. Touhou has been huge for a few years now and it's growing bigger still. Will we reach "Peak Touhou" anytime soon?

One more "Bad Apple" type fan video, to bring in more normalfag secondaries, and I believe more of /jp/ type people begin to drop it because it's getting popular.

Excuse me, you guys, but are you high or something? Why do so many people think /jp/ is going to drop Touhou because it's getting popular? Is it some sort of viral rumor forcing its way in here? Whatever happened to the "Rule 1: Take it easy - We don't care about how inuyashasgirlfriend1997 made the most retarded weeaboo video in youtube and you "raged" for 26 minutes to it while killing your cat with your keyboard in the process. Or how some kid in Gaia plays Touhou and FS/N. We just take it easy, since we know the cause of most of these things are kids acting like kids (and if they aren't kids, we know they are just retards). This also means we don't want stupid drama."?
I'd say that, when it gets down to it, we're the truely devoted fans and not those who will get bored of it after a month.

I think the whole "it's on the decline/ending" myth is perpetuated by haters who want to cause Touhou to die by tricking fans to think it's dying. We must continue to have faith and love!

Windows Touhou always had their unique twists, like gathering cherry points by grazing or switching between modes in IN. And really, it's good to have some unique features to let the games distinguish themselves with.

Regardless of your personal opinion on each from a gameplay standpoint, it goes to show that ZUN is being more creative than ever and trying to take Touhou into new territories.

ZUN has a tradition of "deconstructing" the genre and make a game that starts from scratch (see EoSD or MoF) working with different mechanics from there so, no.

Besides, I don't think you'd be much more content if you had played the exact same game thirteen times.
