Hm, I wouldn't count that combination out as the "weak" one. Can't say much about Mizuki (she just plain sucks, and only useful for her ability or if you need more short range.), but Erika can still curbstomp guys all the way to National chapter, what with her type advantage and whatnot. She also gets more lackeys to use as BP harvesters and also nets a decent character, Comet-san, on the side.

All in all, I'd say the Erika/Mizuki combo is balanced.

Well, Mizuki sucks and Nanana is better than her in every way.

But the Kendo sisters and Erika are balanced.
With Erika you get 3 characters instead of two, and while you get Shizuri with Kendo, you do get Comet-san with Erika.
Then you might argue that Shizuri > Comet, but Comet still ayn't bad, and it's still 4 characters vs 3.

Also, the AllyCounter+30, AllyHit+30, and AllyEvade+20 shouldn't be underestimated.

Hence, if you have like, 100/50 XP, the unit will level up once, then have 50/50 XP, then level up again next turn.

You're welcome! But it's probably impossible to do everything in just one or two playthroughs anyways, so if it's your first time just do as you please. It's more fun that way instead of being obsessive about completion, because you can't actually come close to getting everything anyways. Though getting many events is nice since it carrys to the next playthrough.

Now on this choice, Kunagi is one of the game's main heroine so it sounds important, but the game has two main routes, and if you do the the other route instead, you won't even get Kunagi so it doesn't matter.

Erika dominates the first half of the game and her and her gang's passive skills are very useful on first games. Kendo's better more generally, but lacks a good type strength to take advantage of it until late game when Shizuri trains her while Kyudo's got low accuracy for a ranged unit, which limits her usefulness. Shizuri is a much better unit than Comet and requires less work to pick up.

TL;DR
Erika on first games without bonuses or if you want to clear Abao (need to take Nanana for that), Kendo/Kyudo if everybody has their bonuses.

Obviously it depends on how much effort you put into them, but Erika was one of the strongest attackers in my first game. It is very easy for her to gain exp thanks her type advantages in the first half of the game.

Saki is also a pretty decent ranged unit and has her buffs. Shoko is awful aside from her buff. Adding Saki & Nanana to any team is fantastic.

Comet is pretty good given how early you can get her, but Shizuri is definitely stronger. Especially since she improves one of the sisters.

Erika makes the bikers in the district chapter much easier to handle. She's a very strong unit initially, and can definitely hold her own late game. Her pals, however, are a different story. Neither are very good, only being useful for getting Comet and their passives.

The sisters are both decent when they initially join you. They're not as impressive as Erika, but again, they can hold their own. Kyudo however, you'll want to be a bit more careful with. Later in the game, they both become very powerful though.

So I keep trying to go to the Science Room and the Second Floor Classroom but nothing is happening. I do see a bar on the top left and a few arrows (the arrows are different for each area. This game seems like it has a much higher initial learning curve than Sengoku Rance, it's pretty hard to get a grip on.

Currently, I'm about halfway through the district chapter. I keep feeling like I don't have nearly enough dudes to do everything I need to do. Collect income, increase law when it gets low, defend from attacks, and attack to increase territory. When you mix all that with having to bench dudes from time to time to regain hp and such, I feel like my army needs to be twice as big as it is. Which worries me, because every income phase I go totally broke and Gou has to gift me some BP. I assume that will stop in the national chapter, so whatever I'm doing so wrong with income now might totally fuck me when I get there.

I realize this is all fairly vague, but does anyone have any general advice for these issues?

>> No.6149892

Don't worry too much about income at that stage, it can't be helped.
Recruit as many generic schoolgirls from Seijou academy as you can. They have 50 income stat. Don't worry about Law either, it only costs 10BP to restore the law of an area.

It's actually worse than that, because those are actually not free tutorial gifts. They are all debts you'll have to repay, with interest no less.

But it's actually not as bad as it sounds. Even when I didn't know how to receive any building income at all, and had a huge debt, I still managed to conquer half the map. With buildings from the start, money soon shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't waste it for character bonuses or items.

The combat learning curve is actually less steep than Rance in my opinion, and more strategic.

If you turn Daigo into Devil Daigo, Kaguya will kill him. If you want to full clear Daigo you need to turn him into Devil Daigo(Third star), which will get him killed if you have Kaguya or recruit Kaguya. The only solution if you want to full clear Daigo and have Kaguya is transform him as soon as you can and then wait until he reverts before recruiting Kaguya. He will be Devil Daigo until he fights in 20 battles, so get to it if you want to clear him and have both.

I don't know about exp split

You randomly get a level up if they gained more exp than is required and the extra exp is enough for another level, since a character can only level one time a turn.

If you're already an enslaved member of the cult, than yes. You could go back to a save where you didn't join, or decide to be a proud member of the cult. I mean, free superior generic units aren't bad; it's just that you're forced to keep getting them, but they have no cost attached and you don't have to worry about loyalty either. Plus you do get 2 cg scenes from the cult. I only got the first one. Uh, not exactly a sex scene at all...hannies being hannies with their girl.

If you're trying like a prostitute to hook up with Kaen to get her 500 bp sex bonus, know that you can't get her until turn 65+. She's naturally supposed to be an endgame thing so poor Sanae doesn't get outdated too fast.

As long as you don't place units on another faction's territory, you're neutral. Bordering areas are ok. They will eventually declare war on you, but till then you're golden. Don't push it if you aren't ready. Also, don't worry about the 100 turn too much, as beating the game shouldn't be too much of a problem-it's more a restriction on what character clear events, dungeons, ect you want to get done, since you probably can't do everything.

Can someone please explain to me what the big fuss about PGG's tanks was about ingame? By the time they showed up (turn 7) Rouga could one-shot them and they couldn't hit him half the time, as well as a range of characters able to two-shot them and dodge/tank their attacks. I think I used Asakura's ability once and that just helped me capture Takeshi.

>> No.6158403

>>6158318
The tanks make it much harder for you to train some of your newer/weaker characters, effectively hurting you in the long run. By forcing you to use Rouga, Kuga, etc. in more and more of those battles, it restricted how many other units gained XP. It helps your already strong characters stronger and your weaker characters weaker.

That's my guess, anyways.

On another note, I know I have to wait for the Flaming Faggots to take Igarashi's new independent country before I can get her, but what about Kaen? Should I wait for them to take over her as well, or just take her beforehand?

>> No.6158469

>>6158403
Oh, I see. I was busy using my newer/weaker character to farm xp in Shinjuku anyway (or deploying them where they could help against non-tanks) so I lost nothing really. I suppose I can see how it might cause problems, though.

>> No.6158495

>>6158318
It's more that you only have a limited amount of characters who can kill them comfortably when you are defending as well as attacking. You either use that turns attack to wipe out the leftovers and not be able to attack, or you use that turns attack to conquer more and in turn that territory will be under attack by renewed forces.

You can blitz through PGG and have no problem with the tanks, but if you take long then you will really start to hurt. I remember the time when I tried to conquer Shinjuku and get Youki while I was at war with PGG and I couldn't manage, had to reload to before I fought with Shinjuku.

Or at least that's how I see it.

>> No.6158544

Tanks have good Hit for long range and do decent damage. Most characters are going to take damage from fighting them, so they have the tendency to wear you down really fast.

They're also harder to deal with in Hard Mode. They deploy in groups of six instead of three. It's just painful attrition though. Still not hard to get around with a rush before attrition really starts to hurt, but Yuma's definitely a lot more useful in dealing with them.

Ugh, what are some good tactics in the final Holy Flame showdown? This is the craziest yet, with so many high stat enemies, but the multiple black Rougas have 170+ hit and 110ish attack, in addition to all the boss units and strong enemies. Anti-machine is no good against such high hit rate. The only thing that can one-shot the Rougas is my own Wolf Fang, but that obviously needs to be preserved. What's the best way to not have to sacrifice good characters?

Obviously depends on your party. Give Kunagi the weakness erasing item to let her fight decently for starters. If you have characters that can reduce counter, bring them to every fight. Every unit has a weakness (can be erased with some items). Units can be strong against any or all of the six types. A type advantage means that the unit gains +30 Hit, +30 Evd, and +30 Counter. Two units can both be strong against each other, which means the net change in the battle is that both gain +30 counter.

In the image, Vandain is mechanical with strengths against mechanical, magical, and demon. The vampire is a demon with a strength against normal. Vandain has a type advantage, so he'll get +30 Hit, Evd, and Counter if he attacks.

Uh, I find that extremely hard to believe. Counter in this game is for continuing on with your planned assault.

Say you send in Senna against a long ranged attacker. Senna's evasion is non-existent, so she will be hit by the attack. This is where Coutner comes into play. If her Counter rating is high, she has a better chance of continuing on with her planned attack.
If her Counter rating is low (Which it is most definitely not, but this is just for examples sake), however, she will have a much higher chance of NOT continuing her attack.

Counter in this game doesn't mean actually counterattacking someone that already attacked you. It just means following through with your attack even if you're hit.

Is the holy flame really that hard?
I conqured all the neutral regions, set my eyes on the nightmare eyes, and then I was apparently one turn or so too late to talk with the SU, and so every nation declared war on me.

Being rather confident in my army as I plowed the district chapter as if it was nothing, I didn't care, and so I faught against all of them at the same time.
Defending against all of their attacks each and every turn netted me some increadible amounts of exp.

When it was only the Holy Flame left, 1 single nation, it was suprisingly easy actually, most of my characters could take on their armies by themselves, and my greatest characters didn't fail against their commanders one bit.

I always figured I got extra exp from being at war with everyone, but I still had a hard time figuring them being hard to fight against even so.

If you can handle it, why not?
You can only initiate one fight a turn yourself, and there is only one event (or dungeon) in the event phase.

Unless you station people in hostile regions only for them to counter attack, then there won't be more battles a turn other than your attack, their attack, and an eventual dungeon if you didn't feel another event was more important.
They are slower to regain their defending forces than they are assempling their attack forces, so being attacked grants you more experience.

Do you guys think it would be better to suppress the area I'm defending first and then move onto the offensive?

I can handle it in hard mode too, i usually just invade both at the same time and maybe bottle neck one of them. It's better than letting them attack you first.

I find this all very dubious. How exactly did you have the manpower to defend against 4-5 separate attacks on your group every turn. one method is to place units in a hostile area that takes an odd number of blocks to be conquered. when you invade an area that has no defending force you get 3 instead of 2 blocks per invasion, explaining why you would place units in an area and not attack. which saves you an attack/turn for ODD numbered areas.

This is hard mode. Jeanne and most other things are no problem. It was the three black Rougas that got in the way. They had very high stats for everything, 84 counter, and would kill most units in 1 hit. Anyways I've beaten it now.

Let's say you have about 25 characters when the SU suggests all nations to wage war against you.
And Kanata, Youki, Saito from the neutral regions of the National chapter, a few of those "non-generic" generic type characters from the District chapter, as well as a few generics.
Erika and her groonies over the Nakanishi sisters, as the Miyazato gang grants more characters and perhaps most of all, stamina.

Stamina loss is your greatest enemy, HP and character stats is a fleeting thing as there is pretty much always something anyone can do.
That is to say, Burai also has about twice as much stamina as Kinako.

Let's say you are attacked around 5 times a turn, NE, PGG/Totori and NPI, as well as Shin-Juku.
I said around 25 units, right?
25/5 = 5
This grants you to divide the defending forces in teams up to 5, but 5 units is more than enough in fact, so you can lower that number to 4 or 3 in some areas in order to grant you numbers over, enabling you to form 6th team (for attacking).

Then you just have to keep an eye on all their stamina, 4 units to defend one region is really not necessary, you can easily let one or two of them rest occasionaly in order to regain stamina (+2 stamina a turn for units not stationed) and HP.

And that's it basically, it only gets easier from there.

>> No.6160979

The NPI will be easy to defend against after the first 3 areas.
Toukyou is a natural choking point, it's easy to defend against the PGG there from the beginning.
Shinjuku doesn't need more than 3-4 rotating mid range fighters.

I'm thinking of first raping the NPI back to Oosaka.
Oosaka is a great defense point, and once you get that far, you get great fighters like Shizuri, Akuu and Sae and more.

Meanwhile, I have defended against PGG and Shinjuku, which doesn't take that much resource.

Not so sure about Nightmare eyes yet. (I wonder what would happen if Nightmare eyes sends bats to Akihabara, when Akihabara is still under control of PGG....?)
