This guy up there in OP's pic can be easily considered to be one of the most overrated "scientists" (yeah, he majored in astronomy, which makes him a scientist), and when it comes to scientific edutainment it says a freakin' lot.
I've watched some of his documentaries recently and I can't help but wonder how he could've built up so much support among the unwashed masses when his work boils down to spewing platitudes and just repeat things we already know from grade school.
Oh, and don't make me get started on the pot issue. Junkies like to bring up the fact he did drugs all the time to make the case that you can do drugs AND be a key member of the society. This is probably to hide the fact that anyone who says it is a failure who hasn't done anything constructive in his live but hopes someday to do it, once he stops being a parasite.
Still, this is only half of the problem. The other is, what kind of contribute did Carl Sagan give to science? I can't remember anything worth of note, apart that he doodled some graph into the soap on the shower's wall while he was high. For real?
