Well, I guess that's the point. He does grow out of it in the finale, but I guess most people just see him as a failure of a protagonist instead of a flawed one and never bother watching the entire series.

Actually, considering that the entirety of Episode 4 is him doing absolutely nothing, I don't really blame people who give up on the series.
