As some of you may or may not be aware, today is mother's day. As a part this celebration, I was hoping to write "happy mother's day" or "I wish you (a) happy mother's day" in japanese. the only real issue I'm having is this: what is the phoenetic pronounciation for "day" in japanese?

thank you very much; although do you know if there are kanji for 'happy' and 'mother'?

Mother's Day in Japanese is 母の日, and to make it a phrase like "Happy Mother's Day," it would just be お母の日おめでとう(ございます)。 ございます being optional.

Also just to note, this is just using my limited knowledge of Japanese grammar (I've done two years of the stuff, so I'm pretty sure I'm correct.)

And when I say ございます is optional, I mean it's okay to exclude it in this context. Adding it would be more formal and humbling.

Same amount of schooling but I'm certain you're correct. In Romanji it would be Haha no hi omedetou gozaimasu with the gozaimasu being optional.

If I was a mother, and my weaboo son sent me a card with "happy mother's day" in Japanese, I would send it back/slap his face
