- HOW TO MAKE ANIME FACES IN 3D -

1. Just make the shape of the head.
2. Make it fit the reference. Then complete with the loops.
3. Extrude it.
4. Smooth the head. Then add the hair, and you're done!

Play with different settings.
What software do you use? I found Paint Tool SAI to be very tablet friendly with the initial settings - you might want to try that, and see if it's any different. And if it is, try to recreate the feel in your graphics software of choice.
