my incredibly useful hair removal guide from part 1:

some years ago i simply tried burning some hair off with a lighter
this worked pretty nicely for me
over 90% of the hair in the area permanently gone and pristine skin
but i guess if you don't do it right its easy to either burn your skin or don't kill the hair first try

I usually have to go both with and against the grain to get everything. I might try letting it grow a bit and plucking with tweezers sometime. It'll take some time but should grow back much slower.

Not exactly related to crossdressing, but this is probably close enough.

I've been going to psychiatrist for some time now, and recently he said that it's possible I have Gender Identity Disorder. Obviously if I follow with this, it would mean further research, and hormone treatment followed by surgeries.
I'm curious how long all of this would take, and what the costs would be. As far as I know, all of the basic stuff is covered by the health insurance, but aside from that I have no idea.

That depends on a lot of factors. As for time, it depends on what you want in the end. There are plenty of TG people who only take hormones and never get gender reassignment surgery. Others have laser hair removal, jaw bone restructuring, breast implants (usually if they start later in life and hormones don't do much for breast growth), ect.

As for costs, depends on where you live / work / if you are dependent. Hormones are usually covered by insurance, but any sort of "cosmetic" surgery likely isn't.

Sorry if this wasn't really helpful, it's a case by case issue. Your psych would probably be able to help you more than I.

I'm no expert but here's a tip to those struggling with their legs;

Dark/black pantyhose/stockings compliment you legs and make them look thinner. If you can find a pair of heels as well and combine the two they will really help make your legs look more feminine. It's a common trick that most women use. Covering your legs with pantyhose/stockings also remove most/all problems regarding skin and shaving.

hormones: about $100/month
tracheal shave: $3K
Laser hair removal: $900 (just the face so far)
skin rejuvenation/resurfacing: $1000 or so, I lost track.

Future expenses:

Laser hair removal: chest hair $900-$1200 (hair there is much coarser and harder to remove)

FFS: varies considerably, but my consult estimated about $20K for brow ridge contouring, jaw contouring and nose restructuring. The Doc said comparatively speaking I didn't need much done there since I had feminine features to begin with.

Laser hair removal: Groin *OUCH* going to be about $1000 as well.
SRS: can range from $12K to $20K depending on where you go and traveling expenses.

There will probably be some misc expenses and prices will most likely go up ofter this year as well.

As for the groin, that is a must if you get SRS since you don't want any hair to grow in your new vagina.

Around it is OK, but not in it which is a very common issue many MtF have.

Testosterone is the only growth hormone with any effect on vocal cords.
Estrogen doesn't touch them, so it's not going to undo any 'damage' to your cords to change your voice or anything.

Most long socks are like regular socks and come in one size. You shouldn't have any trouble anyway since males and females have the same relative calf size.
Dark pantyhose should cover up your hair legs, or at least well enough to keep it from being noticed by a digital or webcam. However, pantyhose DOES come in different sizes. Just google "pantyhose sizing". You're not going to get anyway without some measuring tape, though. Unless you want to dick around with some string and a ruler.
I'd suggest just shaving your thighs, so you can wear whatever and still revert to male mode with shorts.

Ultimately, it's up to you. Pantyhose are very tight, and weren't made for hairy legs. I'd assume it'd be tight to the point of your leg hairs being pushed against your leg, the thought alone sounds uncomfortable (and probably itchy/sweaty). Oh right, and they stick through the pantyhose. It's ugly.

I was only in pantyhose with hairy legs once (the very first time), I kept shaved after that. I don't remember much about it, but it did make me want to shave immediately.
