I just finished watching the Umineko anime. Should I start reading Chiru or would I be missing too much information?

If you don't mind going through all the same material again I would also recommend you read 1-4 first. The anime skipped quite a few good scenes and made some into abominations, seeing those and the REAL relationship between Beatrice and Battler would probably be worth your time.

Just skip some of the longer boring scenes if you really feel like it. AKA early episode 1,2 and Ange scenes.

The anime actually did a pretty decent job of summarizing all of the key scenes, I think youre good.
But the arguments and reasoning are so much more developed and explained in the vn, don't miss it.

The anime is like the Cliffs Notes of the VN. It runs over all the bases but doesn't go in-depth at all. You also miss out on the great soundtrack, which got totally botched for the anime. Read it if you have the time.

You should probably wait a few years so you can forget about the anime, then read then novels 1-4
Otherwise they'll be boring because you spoiled everything
Starting on 5 is a bad idea because you'll be confused
They left a lot out in the Umineko anime
