So I just checked out /a/ because I was bored.
Beside shitty Naruto,Bleach and K-On discussions there was a "What's your favourite touhou" thread with lots of images and and comments like

Looks like /a/ is more........Childish.
Not in a bad way .....It's sort of refreshing to see such people having fun with their childish comments without being worried about getting reported or hated.

/jp/ is more mature...but also more gloomy and unhappy.

/jp/ is otaku culture to people who know about how they are hated/have autism.

/a/ has VN threads (although mostly only ever yume miru and F/SN)
/a/ also has touhou threads as you said.

The two main reasons moot split the board, and they still have them. Just goes to show you how bad /a/ has become, even ignoring all the bleach and naruto threads which always have 200+ posts.

I make VN threads and sometimes do original content threads like my music quizzes, I'm working on the third installment...someday.
/jp/ is one of the better boards, it is still pretty slow during the day/early morning and has very good moderation.

If you don't /jp/'s plethora of touhou and mmo threads, make some nice ones of your own.
