Ever since Fairy Wars, I've been obsessed with one of Gensokyo's biggest mysteries: Who or What is Lily Black?

I assumed that she was just a palette error in PoFV, but she appears again in Fairy Wars, so who is she really? Is she some Jekyl and Hyde version of Lily White, or a 'Bizarro' version that does the opposite of regular Lily, or some "Dastardly and Muttley" character that interferes with her trying to announce the coming of Spring?

Or does Gensokyo really need two different people to do that job?

Play PoFV again.
It's not just Lily. All fairies in the last stage are dressed formally in black (dark blue?).
They even war silly hats like Eiki.

Personally, I thought that Lily was white in PCB because she was announcing spring was coming and black in subsequent games because it had been a while and I guess summer or autumn was coming.
