Christians are not bound by any of the 613 Mosaic Laws given to the Jews. Read the book of Hebrews and writings of Paul some time. They spend chapter after chapter on this subject. Once of the clearest teaching in the New Testament. Try actually reading it some time.

What was the purpose for that Old Testament law? Simple. In the Mosaic Law God called for the regular washing of garments. When you mix natural fabrics like wool and linen, they shrink at different rates and tear the garment, ruining it. Even Jesus pointed out that this was the purpose of the law when he state that "No man patches an old garment with new a patch because it will shrink and tear the garment and ruin them both".

If a garment is made today of fabrics which do not shrink, or that shrink without damaging each other, it would not be a violation of the intent for this law. (Assuming that as Christians we were required to keep it, which we are not.)

Not all of the 613 Mosaic Laws were moral. Some were designed to promote finances, health, family relations, building safety, land usage, and many other issues. This is a "finance" law. It is dumb to mix fabrics that will shrink and destroy the garment.
