Almost feels like I'm cheating. A certain moongate has custom npcs that cast wish when confused, so I took the opportunity and got myself some decent gear. Didn't get an adamantium kit, but diamond is good enough. If any of you stumble upon this moongate(has June in the name, think it was second page on rune list), brotip: Ehekatl is stashed away in a room on the very right of the map, dig the walls. Ehekatl will consume cursed alcohol, so wait until she dies before you start attacking the custom npc. Otherwise it's MEWMEWMEWMEW for you. Anyway, Elona General

That aside, any suggestions for clearing Noyel of blue bubbles? I've thought about walling in every NPC, particularly the fire giant, and also the traders, who just run around uselessly with bubbles tailing them. Problems finding the rod of make wall though.

Though I'm tempted to leave it as is, every time the fire giant burns down the altar, it becomes unclaimed again when it respawns, so I can just grab it again for my god.

That's because it is cheating.

Anyway, digging my fairy wizard. Almost ready to be accepted by the mages' guild so I can properly train my magic. Escort quests got me the gold to get my performing gear and an instrument from the heir trunk, which allowed me to get my fighting/casting gear from the trunk, as well as some other goodies. There's still a lot left in the trunk.

I guess my question is, aside from speed rings, and maybe glass gear (my gear is already better than glass, so I won't bother), what should I do to get more speed? Maybe I should try to make my speed rings glass. Eight more speed, hell yeah.

that's because it is. same thing goes for any of the pets you'd grab from them.

while using moongates is part of the game, some of them are made specifically for "cheating". some of them are just showing off their harem, but many of the pets contained in them are ridiculous, example being custom-made characters that happen to be level 40+ and have godly stats/skills/speed or special monsters that are capable of casting Wish on you multiple times or other incredibly beneficial things.

>Bring a scroll of contingency and wish for Kumiromi. Wait for MEWMEWMEW and grab your 691 magic scythe.

You know, I just might do that if I ever have 21 flying scrolls laying around. Bless the stack, grab the 376.5 stone scythe, and make it fly all the way down to .895471 stone. Sure, you'd lose most of the +32 damage bonus, but that hardly matters when you can actually pick it up and use it.

If you aren't a fairy like me you'd just need 14 blessed scrolls of flying to get to 6.71 stone, or 16 to get to 3.77.

Question for anyone who got the scythe, are you able to change its material type at all? I'd imagine not, but it's worth figuring out just because it's ether.

You can use the inferior material scrolls to make gear that is otherwise too heavy into paper/cloth/etc lighter materials. You should have figured by now that there's no experience in this game. Both you and your pets level by exercising skills. And since pets can't level from non combat skills the way you can, the only way to level them is to have them participate in actual fighting.

>...that's a huge range, though...

Indeed, it is. Think of it like this, though. If you have a lot of items that give a bonus, you can safely assume the mean value.

That is, for the example he gave, instead of worrying about the 27-49 range, you can assume that your skills will probably be boosted by an amount close to 38, assuming you weren't either incredibly lucky or incredibly shafted by the RNG.

My current performing gear, for example. I have 5 ## gears and one ### gear (which is actually my main robe, too).

The range of my bonus is 35 to 59, but I can safely assume it's around 47. This is practical because it helps me to decide when it might be safe for me to play around <Loyter> or <Whom dwell in the vanity>.

He's probably carrying his whole house. His bed, his training machine, spare gears, absolutely everything he picks up that might be of value to a trader, potions, scrolls, rods, books, a cooler box chock full of heavy corpses, and maybe a few trees just to top it off so he's still burdened.

It also splits and will quickly flood your screen with them if you let them out of the area by digging or otherwise.

At first you identify stuff at a wizard's who resides in the adventurer's guild in every town. You can also read scrolls of identify or later cast the spell. You can also learn a skill that gives you the ability to identify all items in your inventory over time.
When you die, you lose a bunch of money, as well as some of your equipment randomly. Blessing your equip decreases that risk. At or after level 6 you also lose some attributes.

Grenades are crazy powerful if you can get your hands on one early. They're hazardous to your pets however, and deal sound damage and has a chance to confuse with their grenade effect.

I believe their damage is affected by your magic stat, so possibly good emergency weapon for a wizard, and if you give your pet a high sound resist item, like say, the <Unknown Shell> along with something that prevents confusion, you can use it with minimal worries of killing your pet in using it.

I love them personally, but my magic is usually terrible to have them keep up damage wise against the things I'm fighting past 10 or so.

Okay I just did some testing with new year's gifts. I opened all these packages layed out like this twice. Notable discoveries were that I got an artifact each batch, but they weren't from the same gift. Another notable discovery was that I found out you could get aurora rings and speed rings from new year's gifts. Speed ring first batch, aurora ring this batch. Notably again they weren't from the same gift.

Another thing to note was that one of the gifts is a normal level one meaning monsters, fire and curses meaning you could get gifts of varying levels from wishes. I have however scummed a single soul mate gift I got from an adventurer a lot without result so I'm beginning to theorize that the next level of new year's gift above soul mate which is love includes all the stuff from the soul mate tier and then some.

Basically my theory is that a love level new year's gift is a soul mate gift with the added chances of getting speed rings, aurora rings, and artifacts. It might be the actual tier lightsabres show up to despite what the wiki says since I've never gotten one on the gift I got on a my regular character. Maybe vindales or seven-leagues could show up in them too.

Well, I think the text that generates that tells you to post it somewhere. That somewhere is not here.

Anyway, my best guess it that you have some moongate NPCs available to your game (either you downloaded them from that guy who uploaded the packs or you downloaded them from the place he got them), and they aren't going to generate properly (thus causing a crash). Had you entered the moongate that hosts them, you would crash before doing anything, meaning you can't even summon them, but by circumventing that, you have them in your game and you crash. The second part of my guess is that some adventurer or shopkeeper or someone has an item that attracts monsters, or they drank out of a well, or something, and it spawned one of those NPCs that cannot be generated properly by your game, thus causing you to crash in the game.

But I could be wrong. That's just my guess.
I don't know enough about the game's programming to really garner anything from the dump log you posted.

MAD WITH POWER HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I just have to turn it into a lighter/better material. I made the last one I got into a rubynus staff and gave it some flying, but I might just shoot for any material I can get for this one just to get it under one stone.

And yes, I know about Issizzle and his Staff of Insanity, but this is a new character and it's always nice to have something you can pass on as an inheritance, especially when you have two. I'll use the Staff of Insanity when I get around to it. I still have more training to do and skills to buy. And gene engineering for my little girl. And some god stuff. And exploring other dungeons. And did I say training magic?

This one has only four #### while my current nice one has five ##### (and has one # in Greater Evasion and Evasion, which is a nice little bonus), so this will be the one to put in storage once I get the Staff of Insanity.

I don't think it's a straight damage bonus, but a fractional bonus. Say, 40 points enhancement means 40% more damage (just as an example - not saying that's actually the bonus for 40 points) and not 40 points damage added to spells. So if he's only doing 10 damage with a spell, he'll only do 14.

Still, that's problematic if his spells aren't leveling up. Did you level him up with gene engineering?

You can always turn it into paper. Or if you can't, then you can use a material kit (vendors at the Jure Festival rarely have them - light weight low rank quality kits are pretty cheap, typically under 100k). If that fails, yeah, pass it to a pet.

Or that I have a second one, a fair scimitar that is emerald, which my little girl uses. Or that I very recently found a third one, a hand axe, that I gave to my Golden Knight which sadly replaced my awesome lightning trident (it's worth it to level a weapon). Or that I got a wish and, since this is a character who had an heir trunk to raid, didn't need seven leagues or any aurora/vindale/happy bed/etc and thus was able to wish for scrolls of name, which I'm planning to use if these assholes ever try to suck blood. There is no such thing as overpreparation. There is only overleveling.
For instance, always bring more healing items than you think you need, just in case.
For instance, when I took on Friesa the Cat Queen with my just acquired Shield of Thorn, I went in there with MANY rods of cure, healing hands, and heal, all pretty well charged.
I still had to conserve them a bit before Friesa died from throwing herself onto thorns one time too many.
And I thought she was the HARDEST of the three.
Come to think of it, I thought Ultima was the easiest, but he's the only one that can safely blow my pet twin bell to pieces without taking little, if any, damage. Even Friesa and Azzrssil would have their health bar drop noticeably before it got taken out.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, Azzrssil has too much MP to be MP drained to death. When I tried, I ended up giving up and retreating due to running out of recharge scrolls and rods to cannabalize for more recharges. Not a single mention of overcasting occured, and Azzrssil already was down to 50% hp (had enough resistance to take the dark bolts with no damage [they still blinded me incredibly rarely], and enough magic resistance to take next to no damage from the darts, but only 6 levels of cold resistance, resulting in me taking 20 hp per cold bolt).
Also, Silence isn't that great on him unless you are very fast. Rarely hits even before the hex nerf of 1.2x with a magic device skill of over 50, doesn't last that long even when it DOES stick.

I don't think it really matters beyond what YOU want to use. The second living weapon I found (after that ridiculously stupid mace I passed up) was a nice machine gun. It sounds like it uses a heavy weapon material. If you can, use scrolls of superior change material, or change material (blessed if you can, will act like superior). Make sure you have a few in case you get a bad result from the generator. You should find a decent material that lowers its weight to what you need.

Flying scrolls only lower the bonus damage.
If your claymore is (3d8+15), for example, it will only lower the +15 damage by a fraction. Non-blessed scrolls lower it by 15% per application. Blessed ones only lower it 12.5% per application, and they also reduce the weight more than non-blessed (25% versus only 15%, meaning you should ALWAYS bless them before use).

Well, if the weapon is how you want it, then keep it that way. But if it has a low bonus damage like (5d8+5) then don't be afraid to make it fly. If it has a high bonus damage like (3d8+20) then don't touch that at all with a flying scroll.

All rogue-likes have at least a minimum story (like the famous and iconic Amulet of Yendor in the original Rogue - which I HAVE gotten, by the way).

The controls are satisfying for the game that's involved, and the controls are gratifying; you actually have control.

Yeah, that would be a painful drop. With one blessed scroll, it would go from +29 to +25. But maybe that's worth the drop in weight from 14.4 to 10.8. Burned, annihilated, destroyed...Pretty much the same thing to me.

>> No.5958325

Holy shit yes, rod of domination in my salary box. Time to go hunting.

>> No.5958343

Magic device is not exactly easy to level. Even with buying up all the cheap rods to spam i am still only at level 22.

Get some blankets then. They're not exactly uncommon, even a 0 charge blanket may survive for some time.

>> No.5958364

>>5958343
At level 22 there isn't much reason to level it further. I'd think you could expect to use any rod 98% of the time by then.

Rod of domination with monster heart fails to dominate a master thief 95% of the time. At level 31.

I was considering Getting the <Diablo> from Miral & Garok's. Is the time stop very useful? Will it get outclassed later on?

>> No.5958424

>>5958367
That doesn't have anything to do with your MD skill, does it? The rod activates fine, it's just the thief keeps making his save.
>>5958401
Time stop is very, very useful. The Diablo will likely be outclassed, eventually, if you get lucky enough with randarts. That said, it will continue to be an excellent weapon for the length of the game.

My favourite silver claymore or Lightning (#####+) got badly damaged by acid. Is there a way to repair it?

>> No.5958528

There were several mentions in previous threads about monsters with on-hit status effects that would irritate PV tanks late game; would anyone tell me what those effects are and which monsters give them?

Well, he usually does 1-4 hits per round. Usually 2-3 rarely more or less. But his damages suck. Didn't you see how my catsister RAPE compared to that failure of a mage?

As I thought, but it will be really expensive to get from -8 to 0... Maybe I should just buy a legendary claymore or something.

Not many things beat lightning damage #####+.
Unless you get really fucking lucky you'd be better off fixing your claymore rather than replacing it.

Hell, even if you do find a replacement, you should still keep your old claymore.

I found a blessed rod of domination (2 charges) in my storehouse. I don't remember where it came from.

Maybe it was a gift from Lulwy.

You unbelievably lucky bastard. Enchant that thing to +6 before you start leveling it up, spam scrolls of name to avoid blood sucking/bad level ups, and let the awesome roll.
>>5958612
Think that's weird? I found a panty that FUCKING STOPS TIME. The mind damage could be explained by what just hit you in the head, but panties do not normally warp the space-time continuum to your whim.

Random question. Where do you find sprites for custom npcs?

Is it confirmed that a happy bed is superior to a king's bed? I seem to be getting lesser night events with a happy bed...

As someone who's done this about four times already, let me assure you that there are dozens if not at least one hundred spots where the map could be showing. There are a lot more vast stretches of snow in the north east than you realize.

>> No.5962536

I don't mean three exact squares. I mean around three general areas where you can find that square. Still, it's annoying to have that happen.

Those areas are very large and wide, then.

But anyway, I found the spot.

>> No.5962580

I'll give you that, but it's still better than nothing (for instance, if the whole of the snowy area was featureless).
