Episode 7 Tea Party Summary:
Tea Party is essentially this...

Ange and Lion are in the theater with Claire. Scene shifts to the island, everyone is gathered (no Lion, or Right. Battler is there). The typical daily stuff happens, then letter arrives. But then the adults solve the Epitaph, and get to the gold. Once that happens, Eva shoots Natsuhi (accident or not, it happened). Same thing happened to Krauss. Then Rosa and Eva start to duke it out, and Kyrie comes in and shoots Rosa.

Then Kyrie shoots Eva. Though she is still alive, they thought she died.

Kyrie and Rudolph call the cousins, and lure George and Jessica out. Kyrie shoots Jessica then beats her to death (or just beats her corpse). Rudolph kills George. No idea what happens to Battler or Maria...

Eva comes to, and starts freaking out. She goes back to the surface and kills Rudolph. Kyrie comes out shortly after and they start to find. I don't know who wins... I might assume Eva, who then runs away and survives the explosion.

Then some stuff happens with Lion, and Wright comes to protect him. Bern and Wright start fighting, and then they charge at each other like Battler and Erika did in Ep5. Credits roll, and a short scene involving Wright and Lion plays.

This episode could actually be pretty good depending on the quality of the writing. Will seems like the badass detective we all wish Battler had been, and he's able to figure a ton of shit out. Though whether it's anything logical, I don't know.

Eva was a bro in this.

She shoots Natsuhi, true, but it was more or less an accident, and Natsuhi is lying about stuff when there is a conflict abroad.

The truly epic part of this is at the end. Kyrie is being a smug evil bitch, and Eva confronts her. After taunting Eva about how children are shit, including Ange, Eva gives the most manly speech ever, and executes Kyrie.

You''ll see what I mean soon enough. If you were expecting Kyrie as a classy culprit, you may be disappointed, as she's quite the, well, "Smug Snake" but you'll become an Eva fan by the end of this.

I just have a feeling that people confuse a drop in quality with a change of the focus of the series. From what I gather, episodes 5 and 6 were mainly focused on the story and the "magical" side of Rokkenjima, and people who preferred mystery then called those episodes shit.
(Though I realize that saying that the focus shifted to the "story" is useless, because this is after all a novel. What I meant is that there was less questions and more answers, and rather answering the mystery of "why is this all happening" rather than the mysteries of specific episodes. How EASY would it be to tell the truth of what happened? I mean, the Sumadera's have always had sketchy connections, revealing Kyrie as the evil woman she was would be so simple. But when Eva looked that monster in the eye, she made the toughest choice of them all, the RIGHT choice, to spare Ange from knowing how evil her mother was.

I'm not for the whole "Eva = tragic hero". In fact I really hate Eva, to be honest, it is probably one of the character I hate the most in Umineko.
But the part with her not wanting to tell "te truth" to Ange is still awesome. Even more from a fantasy PoV, because Bern WANTED to poison their relationship, she tried everything she was able to do, but no, Eva was still trying to protect Ange from a far too cruel truth.
