So I watched Full Metal Jacket for the first time in my life, and wonder how /jp/ will handle themselves in Marine/military training. How would they pull together in a platoon and survive?

P.S. Unless you are officially on medical disability, have a severe and noticeable physical/mental condition, or are grotesquely overweight (350+lb/160+kg), you have the ability to be motivated and make it through. In addition, moronic excuses like being gay and having a mental disorder without a history won't really work.

Play oblivion lost mod and the fucking military raids the starting town in the first 15 minutes killing everyone.
I woke up one morning and everyone was dead, I was unnerved so I kept checking buildings until I saw one lone yellow dot on my minimap, I went towards it, down some stairs into a dark basement. In the room was the corpses of about 6 stalkers/3 or 4 military and this one lone stalker in a gas mask standing in the middile of them. Went to USMC boot camp...made it to T-17, (which is about a month in)
got separated a few months later due to pneumonia.

If you ever decide to join the Marine Corps, don't do it because you want to be a Marine, do it because you want to be a killer (or at least have that mentality while your there.) If you want a non-combat job, go to the Air Force.

I served nearly a year for my country. Shit was hard at first with the morning calls and marching half day long but oh well. In the end i got stuck guarding some buildings for half a year.
Everyone should do that, it shapes them into a better man. Military duty i mean.

I joined the equivalent of the Marines in my country. The military won't make you into a different person, a "real" man or anything. There is also no family, no brothership or whatever bullshit you hear. People are talking behind the back of others all the time like in any company. People will hate you if you're better than them. They won't hesitate to betray you or destroy you to go up their career.
My advice if you intend to join : do not expect more of it than any other work. It's just of way to make money and acquire some skills and experience, nothing more.
