So I just finished Fate a few minutes ago...but I still have a few questions, what are Tiger Stamps, how do I enter UBW and where the fuck is my Shirou raping Rin?

And yeah, I'm a newfag to VN's

Read the huge flowchart.

>> No.590007

you close the VN, and go play Photopia instead, because it's a million times better than F/SN

1. You get tiger stamps by listening each Tiger Dojo at BAD ENDS.

2. Shirou and Rin is UBW route.

It's a piece of interactive fiction.

Written by an American writer.

OMG

UBW is the Rin route. Simply advance to Day 3, then when you gain the new option of stopping Saber from nearly killing Rin, stop her.

I actually died on Saber's affection point check.

True story.

Or maybe Canadian ...

But anyway, I think that VN's content is great, but engines like ONScripter and Ren'Py seem inferior to the established IF ones like Inform, TADS and Hugo, which can handle multimedia quite well nowadays. Maybe it's a problem that none of these systems are documented in anything other than English.

Most overrated "IF" there is. Purely linear and puzzleless so it doesn't even deserve to be called "interactive". The much hyped emotional impact has nothing on Planetarian (also linear puzzleless, so a fair comparison). Go play Slouching Towards Bedlam instead, which despite the minor implementation flaws is better written and actually makes you take real decisions, with no obvious best ending.

Tiger stamps are BAD ENDS, the more you have the more you died.

UBW comes on the third day, just stop SEIBA from charging at rin

You're correct, they do seem inferior. This is an advantage, because it sets your expectations correctly. For this same reason I prefer the name "text adventure game" to "interactive fiction". If you take interactive fiction at face value you'll be horribly disappointed. All the elaborate world building and simulationism builds such a pretty facade that it's all the more jarring when it inevitably breaks down. VNs are at least honest with their readers.

I'd tell you guys to go back to a board, but I honestly have no idea where you could go.

Maybe /tg/.
