I wonder how much of /jp/'s current userbase has been around since pre-split - I used to take it for granted, but people could have been here literally for years and have never known a 4chan without this board now.

/jp/ actively doesn't use 4chanarchive. By all accounts, those are likely the worst threads we've ever had. Try searching easymodo for archive sometime, and you'll see quite a variety of good threads where someone mentioned 4chanarchive and was told to fuck off.

Looking at some bad archived threads in there, I disagree. There have definitely been a lot more but nobody bothers with 4chanarchive.

I also remember seeing lots of Japanese related threads on /jp/, especially from those few name/tripfags who went to Japan and took pictures to post on /jp/ and so on. No hostility was seen in those threads.
