Well, R07 often forgets about his characters, Nanjo for example is nearly never mentioned in EP6.

About Kumasawa, notice how she's ALWAYS says uncomfortable, indiscreet things. Starting from her the very first scenes: she mentions that Battler was away for 6 years in front of Maria, forcing him to explain; then she mentions legend of the witch, just to be interrupted by Jessica; later she continues to talk about stuff people don't want to hear or remember. I think she's doing it on some purpose.
