I never understood this one. It's not like someone can't be a neckbeard a NEET and still do drugs. It's not an incompatible lifestyle, unlike some think. To be honest, not every NEET is unhappy. Sure I get lonely and want to hug my waifu, but that doesn't mean I'm unhappy. I don't do drugs but I'm sure there are enough happy NEETs.

Drugs are not necessary for achieving personal happiness, but they can be a contributing factor if the user desires (or in unfortunate cases or improper usage they can lead to unhappiness). Friends are not incompatible with NEETs. /jp/ likes to say they have no friends, but a lot of us do have friends (online or real life), but I don't see the problem unless you're a hikki or just hate any form of human contact (what are you doing on 4chan? anonymous as it is, it's still human contact!). As for the record, I haven't used any sort of drugs in years, as I never developed any sort of dependence on them, and when it became too much effort to obtain them, I simply stopped it. It hasn't changed too much. While drugs give you interesting states of mind, our brain is more than capable of making us happy without having to use them at all. It's all in your head and it's all up to your imagination! Just do what you think is right from your perspective!
