I've been playing guildwars since launch. Either you love it or you hate it. It's a pretty unique game experience that's a lot different from other mmos.

Personally I think it's the perfect mmo for me,except for all the instances.

All that I can say is do the trial before you buy it. The game really isn't for everybody.

Well some of their changes seem a little bad and I don't really agree that they're a good idea, but they're trying to make a different MMO like GW that'll act like contrast to the shit-ton of other generic mmo's out there. I think its nice that they're willing to experiment.

The game is nothing like phanatasy star online.

The only similarities are the instances and missions. Gameplay is completely different.


What makes guildwars so unique is the classes. You also dual class to make some pretty awesome builds.

It had to happen sometime. That's why they've increased the level cap and letting the players experience the entire game before they stop their service. From then onwards they'll be focusing solely on FFXIV.

There was a few years ago, if I recall correctly. The server files were leaked long ago and some guy had a server up but it was extremely unstable. Not sure what happened to it but I don't think it's so easy to host compared to games like Lineage 2.

I once played it but... it no longer attracts me. The only thing I like about it is the fact that you don't have to pay each month to play it, but nowadays there are a lot of games better than GW where you don't have to pay to play, not even for the client.

I played on 2005-2006, when the first version was released. Probably they changed a lot of things, I don't know.

This. GW fell out of whatever little popularity it had back in like 2005, so anyone who is still playing today are the hardcore tourneyfags in their closed-knit little groups. As an outsider looking to start up you might as well not even bother unless you have some online friends who are doing it or something.

Seriously though, I played it for a while, the game pretty much sucks. It's not worth your time or trouble/money acquiring a key.
