Hashihime originates from Genji Monogarati chapter 45 AFAIK,
but I don't know of any description of a hashihime as a type of monster or anything like that.

No wonder, because that's pretty much all there is.
It's a later addition that the hashihime, as a mythical creature, is "something" that hangs around a bridge and doesn't really do much else. There is no appearance nor particular function attributed to them.

The only mystical relation I can think of is Chinese folklore tends to have bridges as popular suicide spots for young widows, sometimes with a long description of her being deified and enshrined at the particular bridge. Not sure what kind of relation there is, if any.
